20 Something Reboot

Good stuff man. Honestly my two cents -- and feel free to ignore it if you disagree -- is that after your reboot period, MOing is ok as long as you don't abuse it. Porn is the real problem, people have MOd since the history of mankind without issue. Here are my personal rules, curious what you think about them:
  • 1-2x a week is healthy, 3x is borderline and anything more is not good
  • Light or moderate grip (no death grip)
  • Slow strokes (no rapid strokes -- I was guilty of this pre reboot)
  • No 2 minute session, but give it at least 10minutes, if not 15-20
  • Natural scenario with a girl (no porn fantasy) in normal positions
  • Girl MUST be someone you've seen IRL (never even M to a girl you've seen in a movie as that's pixels on a screen & a gateway into porn land)
Ultimately I think you want to keep it as close to sex as possible that you are having / will have and keep the frequency at a healthy level. We're all just learning about stuff here but the above is based on what I've read on YBOP and my own experience & reasoning things out

Thank you for the write-up man!
For me, personally, I believe that MO should be done strictly to touch sensation alone with no lascivious imagination or pictures etc. I believe that imagery strengthens the neural pathways that we're trying to unwire. Plus, for me, I find that I'm much more confident and lose that crippling self awareness when I'm not MOing at all!

Man honestly I'm a bit jealous, not sure how to MO to sensation alone. Never did that before & I keep hearing about some guys doing it but no idea how that works

Hi Smoke, I started reading your journal from the beginning a while back and just now caught up with it.

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but your choice of profile picture is genius. A character who was doing well for himself, whose success was sought after by the protagonist. This incentivized you to succeed in your journey in order to maintain the role, which you've done spectacularly.

From my point of view, I am the protagonist of my journey and journal, and within the realm of this website you are a supporting character. I've observed your reboot and compared it to my own, and I must admit that it's made me a bit jealous.

But I'm no Bateman; I'd much rather shake your hand and have a genuine conversation, as opposed to removing you from this world. Helping others succeed; another form of positive masculinity :)

Thank you for taking the time to read my progress!
You've got this man, you'll look back on this conversation when you've kicked the reboot's arse and you'll smile in a moment of pure bliss!
Keep up that authentic masculinity, king.

Great video with no bullshit advice, I recommend a watch for you guys in your early reboot stages!
Day 173
Day 1 of no MO
Well, I'm glad there is finally a thumbnail that doesn't trigger me. Some guys talk about nofap, about not watching porn but then they put Instragram style thumbnails in their videos. That's why I prefer sometimes to watch people talking about addictions to other things like crack, cocaine, meth. It takes my mind away from being triggered by porn. Addictions share similar things anyway and people would be surprised to see how much you can actually learn from people who, unlike porn addicts, could really die in any moment.

By the way, huge accomplishment you got there!

Holy crap man!!! 180 days, what an accomplishment! Half a year in, how do you feel vs. when you first started man? Short or long response, I'll read it all so give us the deets haha
Life is a lot better! My dopamine addiction has certainly lessened. I never made a conscious choice to do this, but my social media usage has dropped massively! My depression is a lot better, I'm waking up much earlier and eating properly. I'm back in the gym and I'm motivated and disciplined enough to develop my life goals! I do get slight porn urges every few days or so, but they quickly fade. It's scary how much time I lost to dopamine addiction and depression, that's my number 1 motivator to keep me on the straight and narrow!
