A viking reboots

Hello everyone. I'm 22 years old and have been struggling with quiting PMO for some years now, with no great degree of succes. So I thought joining a community where I have to report whether I succed or fail would work as a motivating force.

I'll report back in each week, or problably go in here and write something when I have too.

Btw, I'm really suprised of the lack of activity here. I've read several popular threads on other forums dealing with the same thing, so I thought a forum dealing exclusivly with it would have like a bizilion users.

What's up Captain_Diomedes!

This forum is not even 24 hours old as we were still working on getting it running smoothly last night. Sadly it will likely grow because of how many people are struggling out there with this problem and awareness can only continue to increase.

Glad to have you hear and I look forward to seeing you break free from PMO so you can live a better life with a healthy brain.

If you haven't already I suggest reading through some of the FAQ's on YourBrainOnPorn - The better understanding of the process you have the better you will be able to recognize why you feel the way you do and how to correct it.

Much love, and hope the best for you bro.

Hi,

As you are struggling with quiting PMO for so long I have some suggestion that may keep you motivated:
Take a look for how many times you relapsed - how many times you had an oportunity to break free from PMO, but at some point you failed.
Now tell yourself that it is enough time wasted and with help of sharing your story with us you may last without PMO for long and eventually get free for the rest of your life.

I really believe you can do it & then you will see how beautiful can life be.

Cheers.

Hey Capt. I am in the same boat as you (is that a pun?  :p). What kind of things have you been trying to help you stop? I highly recommend walking: It gets you out of the house, it is a way of exercising, gives you time to sort your thoughts and practice mindfulness, and it allows you to be in nature, which is beneficial for rebooting. Anyways, good luck on your journey.

Yeah, I did realize shortly after I wrote my message that you had just started up, Gabe  :p Thanks for the welcome, btw!

Shake, thanks for the kind words, I will not let you down  8)

As for your question, Lykos, I have not really made any long lasting changes to my life to try and stop PMO, which I guess is why I've failed. I'd just quit cold turkey. From time to time it worked for some weeks, I think my longest was maybe 3 weeks or almost a month. I do enjoy walks, so after writing this I think I'll go for one. Btw, puns are - at least in my opinion - the highest form of humour, so to quote the good book: Let there be PUN  ;)

So I have been going for some days now without any PMO, and it reminds me of why I actually like being without it: I feel more manly and full of energy. You also enjoy the women in real life more, which is always nice.

Hi capt.

Good luck with everything mate. Only just got to this forum myself but the support seems great, so im sure you will have a load more success now you have people in the same boat as yourself to talk to about it.

Heres to a brighter future :)

Shit, LTE, that means we might be not-so-distant relatives! At least when compared to people lacking said blood.

Bright future right back at you, Platano  8) Cool name, btw.

So hope those celebrating had a pleasent St Patrick's. I've been mostly busy with my studies, so me not relapsing might just be 'cause of stress and simply not having the time.

As of today I've started with morning excercise routine. Nothing major, just some sit-ups, push-ups etc. This made me aware of the terrible condition I'm in, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.

Good luck to you, Cap'n. I know you got it in you.

Like you, I've tried in the past, but this time I intend to make it stick, no matter how long that takes.
