The beginning of a long......very long journey

I am so glad that I found the "Yourbrainonporn.com" website. It helped so much. After reading many guys' stories about porn addiction and porn induced erectile disfunction, I was surprised that my story matched almost perfectly. The website is great, and I am convinced that if I had known what porn does to your brain and your body I would have stayed away from porn. Anyway, I have been going without any porn for a number of weeks, and I can already feel a difference in my attitude and I have an overall positive look on life. I have lot more energy and motivation to do things. Best part is getting hard without having to depend on pictures to get hard. It is great. Since I started cutting out porn, I have mastrubated about once a week. Not sure if this will slow the recovery process, but I am gonna try to refrain from mastrubating from now on. I have just started trying to count how many days without porn just so I know. Whoever thinks it is not worth it to give up porn.......well, you should give it up. It is hard, but you can do it.

You sound like you really have a solid perspective on porn now, and are having some great success! Journeys require investment and equipment, I know you will thank yourself later if you keep looking into more resources while you are on the uphill. Relapses happen to everyone, and it is always harder to repair damage than it is to prevent it! I know from experience that in any area of life, it is easy to let your guard down after success.

Here is a list of a ton of different resources you can look into. Find one that fits you, whether it be filters, 12 step groups, journals, videos, or even a combination of several. We all know stories about people who prepared for the bad when all was good! It is worth doing. Sobriety is worth the investment, whether it is extra time, software, or even a subscription to a program you feel will help. http://www.pornhelp.org/ways-to-quit-porn.html

Pornography temptation can come at any time. On a day where nothing seems to be going right in life the last thing you want to get hit with is a desire for something you know you do not want!

One resource that is not on that list is internet accountability applications. I use Ever Accountable, and it helps me on the rough days. If you have not heard about accountability software it is worth checking out! here is an article that compares the top 5 versions.http://www.communicatejesus.com/accountability-software-comparison/  It is not an easy journey, but the road less traveled is often the one that is best for us.
