New over here

Hi, I am new on this thing. I have always thought that porn may affect a person in some way and I was thinking that masturbation was affecting my motivation and my social skills; some time ago I discovered this movement (YBOP) and it became an eye-opener for me. Since then I have been trying to reboot, but I'm kinda bad at it. I think my longest streak is like 9 days; during weekdays it's not hard, since I am quite ocuped with work and weight training (competing in powerlifting); but weekends, specially hangover days, are very hard. So I have decide to create an  accout here, so I can motivate myself.

What I am pursuing with this is gaining confidence, which is something I see really affected by porn and masturbation. I have seen that after 7 days of no porn I am such a different person, with girls or even with my mates, and also in training, and I really like myself much more like this.

Any tips??

Thanks! ;)

Welcome Maikel! Yes, those days when you have time on your hands can be hard, so stay strong.

Tips? How about this instead:

You do powerlifting right? Remember a time when you couldn't lift the weight that you're lifting now? Remember seeing that other person lifting weights that dropped your jaw? So you trained hard. Your sore body screaming at you "stop it! You don't need to lift this much!" But you persevered and got to where you are now. And you know you want to push further.

Don't forget that feeling of hard work and achievement. Don't forget that drive.

Welcome Maikel,

One question... is workout harder for you when you're on hangover - after PMOing the day before - ?

I've noticed that, at least in my case, it really becomes hard. Not only because of the lack of motivation that sometimes comes along after PMOing the day before, but physically too.

Good luck on your journey man. You're not alone in this.

Don't think too much. Just do it. Easy as can be.

In my case too. I'm wondering, how I could even lift all the time. It's a whole different feeling now. And my strength is going up as well. Stopping PMO broke a plateau of mine. Placebo or not - the iron is real.

I think this is something that I don't exploit as much as I should, but it's very helpful; training and sports can be applied to every day things and they can be very useful. Thx for the tip!

For me I actually don't think it's such a big deal for my phisycal state, I think it's more mental and motivational. But if I have to lift big weights on that day I would do it anyway, maybe if I didn't PMO I would be more motivated during the workout, with less resting time between sets and with a bigger desire to lift the weights.

What may be an issue is that during he weeks when there is real hard training (lifting heavy weigths, like sets of 1, 2 or 3 reps of your max, fries your central nervous system) if you add up to the weights the PMOing you may get really exhausted. But the thing is that during this weeks i usually have problems sleeping asswell, and PMOing may be the easy way to get some rest.  During these weeks of heavy training if you add the tiredness with what PMOing does to your social skills I end up not wanting to talk to anybody :[

But anyway, the other day I was watching a documentary about Mike Tyson and he said that his routine was training and then jerk off every day (when he was young and unknown). So I don't think that it did affect his training potencial much, who knows. But what about his social skills?

Thanks for the answer, will try to do it! About the training I think without PMOing you can be much more motivated and energized, which in the end will boost up your training.

Thank you for your answers! And sorry for my English, I'm not an English speaker ;)

The gym is a big positive for me too, it's got that amazing combination because you're working on feeling better about yourself and you have all these hot girls to notice. It's like dangling a carrot in front of you haha. I try to remember that when I get cravings, would I rather sit there looking pathetic or actually meet amazing women who have so much more to offer.
