ED recovery - First post on the forum

Hello all,

This is my first post on the forum, I'm looking forward to being a part of your community.

Here's a little background on myself;

I'm a 24 year old male, I tend to keep myself in good shape and eat well. I do treat myself as well from time to time.
For most of my sexual life I have suffered from ED & DE, I'm almost 100% certain this is due to masturbation technique and the overuse of internet porn (which started from a young age)

Over the last 5 months or so I have drastically reduced my masturbation and pretty much completely cut out pornogrpahy use. And I must say my life in all aspects has massively improved.
More recently I have become sexually involved with a new partner. I have been relying on alternative viagra to maintain an erection and it's working well. I have also managed to partially overcome my DE using certain positions and techniques - not completely in the clear regarding DE but I'll get there.

However I now feel like I want to wean myself off the viagra because I am reliant on it  and see if I can achieve a decent enough erection on its own. I'm not confident but if I don't try I'll never know.
Would you recommend halving my dose of viagra or completely cutting it out?

The last 5 months have been great. I feel like I've got myself to 50% of where I want to be. But I want to step up a gear now.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

All the best.

i would recommend completely cutting off viagra but a lot more importantly cutting off porn (and even try to reduce masturbation even more or cut it off too if you have a partner). if you developed PIED, pretty much completely eliminating porn may not be enough to fully recover. go for the kill. in the long run its also harder to quit when you keep giving yourself a little bit of it from time to time right?

5 months is good even if you relapsed half a dozen times. keep building from there i can see you in the success story  :)

Thank you for your response Nikola,

I can confidently say I have given up porn, I don't have the urges anymore.
I'm in a sexual relationship which is great, so porn isn't required for me.

I'm having sex every weekend relying on viagra alternatives.
I just don't feel confident at all trying without it at the minute but I really need to give it up.
I'm in a huge dilemma

Regards

Try it once... if it doesn't work just tell your partner your feeling unwell.

Chances are it won't work because you are thinking it won't work, it's called performance anxiety and it is killer.

But if you go into it with a backup plan if it doesn't then it might take your mind off the stress, try and relax and don't force intercourse.
