Hi everyone,

Here is is my story. I started viewing porn at the age of 12 and continued its use very regularly till the age of 21. It was like more than 4 times a week and my sessions were very long i.e minimum half hour. I had severe social anxiety, lack of confidence, felt very isolated and a feeling of loneliness. I had moderate ED at the age of 21,actually i didn't know it was ED and i thought it was due to my over masturbation n normal.

Then i decided to reduce my masturbation and started going gym with very healthy diet,my number of masturbation at that time was 1 time per month with porn. As the time passed i saw a huge change in me,my confidence was increasing,no social anxiety at all,the time it took for me to reach at this stage was nearly 1 year and i thought reason was because i have decreased my masturbation. I had many relationship at the age of 22,my libido was super high and one thing more i noticed increase in size of my penis, i never had such size in my life before. After age 23 and a half i was single and i have now shifted to a new city. So i started viewing porn for about 1 year with very long sessions near about one hour.

Now my age was 24 and a half, date-17 september 2013 and found i had no desire for sex or masturbation, suffering from severe ED, social anxiety, no confidence, no morning wood, zero libido, dead penis, depression. Then i searched on internet and found my problem is Porn induced ED. I totally stopped viewing porn. After two month i met a girl and was not sure will i have a erection or not, was very doubtful. As soon as we started foreplay i started getting erection and i was shocked how is it happening and i was able to have sex, erection was nearly 70-80%,i didn't enjoyed that much which i used to 2 years back. I had very long flatline for about 5 months. Now its been 6 months to me i have not seen porn, in this period, i made 5 successful sex and masturbated 4 times. Masturbation was kind off struggling. After reaching at this stage the recovery i see is very less, Most of the time i found no erection. My ED is not gone. Sometimes I have morning wood erections near about 40-60%. Sometimes I get a spontaneous erection for very short period only at touching its nearly 50%. Now i have decided i will not masturbate. Guys I'm really damn scared and don't know if will I be normal. Please share your view points.

Thank you
(sorry for poor english)

First, your English is great. Second, are you in relationship? That seems to help a lot on lots of levels.  http://www.yourbrainonporn.com/how-do-i-know-when-im-back-to-normal

More tips here: http://www.yourbrainonporn.com/started-internet-porn-and-my-reboot-erectile-dysfunction-taking-too-long

What's up Goldy Brar,

Your english is pretty good man! The more you write the better you will become at it.

I started viewing porn at the age of 12 and continued its use very regularly till the age of 21.

Very similar to me I started with internet porn at 12 and watched until I was 23. Although I did masturbate to TV porn and magazines before that... but yea I can relate man.

I had very long flatline for about 5 months. Now its been 6 months to me i have not seen porn, in this period....

I know it is a long time man but be patient. It is not unusual at all for younger guys like ourselves to take more than 6 months to regain libido and recover from PIED. I like you started on internet  porn at a very young age and sexually conditioned myself to get turned on by a screen and novelty rather than a real women. It took me around 6 months to come out of a flatline with no relapses. So keep in mind it might take you longer, we are all different and there are many variables that could go into how long it takes to recover. Know this, our brains can change our ENTIRE lives, so keep trucking and stay away from porn, I believe you will be fine. Look at this -

to reach at this stage was nearly 1 year and i thought reason was because i have decreased my masturbation. I had many relationship at the age of 22,my libido was super high

See, you already noticed great improvements after being clean for a year. If you recovered once you can recover again! Stick with it my man. Many have been in your shoes before and recovered. Let that give you hope

Much love

Don't despair, my friend. It may take a while, but your brain will heal and your ED will get better.

I know that my eating habits have improved since breaking free of PMO. Eating more healthfully can't hurt.

Could you still get hard to porn when you had the poor diet? If so then your diet had nothing to do with your ED. However, as LTE suggests cleaning up your diet is a good call no matter what for your overall health!

ED is hardly ever physical unless there are major underlying health issues, such as diabetes. ED is almost always a brain/mind thing.

That's good news, it means that you will recover from ED in time. Good to have you here, GB.

Hi,
its been more than 6 months that i'm sober now,But still sometime i feel the same what i used to at day 1,i also have severe social anxiety. There is no doubt that i'm recovering but its like sometimes i feel i'm recovering and sometimes its like i'm not.One thing more i was reading article on cocaine addiction that it changes mind permanently and it does irreversible damage as it also has same phenomena of dopamine, can we say its sort of same thing but in case of cocaine user more dopamine is released as compared to porn user so that is why one has damaged his brain more?

Thanks

Progress is rarely direct. It's usually two steps forward, one step back, and so forth.

I would opine that porn addiction definitely leaves behind some pathways that are ready to go and it will always be easy to fall into old patterns of behavior if we were to return to using porn. Nonetheless, as long as we are abstinent both in thought and in action we can be fine.

Hi Goldy Brar, keep up the good work, 6 months is impressive.

its been more than 6 months that i'm sober now,But still sometime i feel the same what i used to at day 1,i also have severe social anxiety.
Do you mean to say that it's like a "withdrawal" type feeling, or more like just missing it like we usually do on the first day? It's only been a short time for me, so I suppose it helps to know what to expect down the line.

Stay strong GB, your story really gives me a lot of hope.
