Video on Taking Viagra and Other Sex Drugs During a Reboot

Hey Nation,

When I was going through recovery as an otherwise healthy young 23 year old dude, I was so confused about why I couldn't get an erection for sex. So, I tried Viagra and Cialis, and to my dismay, they didn't work.

As I learned the neuroscience of sexual conditioning and how porn rewires the arousal template in our brain to become dependent on it to achieve and maintain an erection, I realized why the drugs didn't work. Because porn-induced ED is a problem in the brain, not a problem with blood-flow, which is what Viagra helps with.

This is a common question from newbie rebooters who are scared and want a "quick fix", and I recently answered a question about it here: https://youtu.be/qKaLsoXEQfs

If you think porn is the problem behind your sexual dysfunction I strongly advise not using drugs. You need time away from porn, and rewiring with a real partner. And, of course, before you take any drugs make sure you 1) do the porn induced ED test to see if you can easily masturbate without porn or porn-fantasy, just focusing on sensation alone (because if you can then it is likely performance anxiety), and 2) go see a urologist, and let them know if you CAN'T masturbate without porn. They may not be educated on porn-induced ED. Hope y'all have a great day. Keep truckin'. Much love

I have tried Cialis and it gave me a pretty solid erection, but it didn't often lead to successful sex.  It would either lead to premature ejaculation, or it would go away before I could penetrate.  But often times I would be able to achieve a solid erection with it for a decent amount of time.  DO you think this is a sign of PIED or would this be something else.  What are your thoughts on my case??

It could still be PIED, yes. The fact that you got an erection and still lost it could mean that your brain stopped sending arousal signals. However, I cannot say for sure, and I highly recommend getting checked out by a good urologist.

Can you achieve and maintain an erection for porn? Are you able to masturbate without porn or porn fantasy?

Well, I obviously don't want you to try with porn, but can you remember if you achieved an erection with porn in the past? I'm asking because if you could easily achieve erections with porn before you quit, but cannot without, that is a good sign it is porn-induced.

If you haven't watched this video on the porn-induced ED test, I explain a little more: https://youtu.be/ltIjTeDKIh4

ya sorry my response wasn't clear, but ya I remember being able to get an erection with porn.  I tried it once during my first flatline out of panic.
