Hi, AJM.Next few days I will reflect on how to handle the peer pressure and bulling , suggestions are welcome.
I look at this from 2 angles.
Either there is your personality trait of very high agreeableness.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agreeableness there is plenty more on this on other websites. Basically people high on agreeableness tend to say yes if this means it will avoid conflict. Peterson also talks about this stuff. Probably would find some of his lectures online on this.
Alternatively there are some self-esteem or other issues. Lack of healthy boundaries etc. goes back to childhood.
Or also a combination of both.
Looking back at my own life. Got bullied at school definitely attribute this to lack of self-esteem. But then I decided I want people to respect my boundaries. Changed my beliefs around this. Shifted into scoring low on agreeableness. Then didn't get bullied anymore but also didn't got many friends. Now I am finding a balance. I don't want to be that guy - That you should avoid for various reasons. Also don't want to be that guy - That you can push around. But the guy who respects others and gets respected back. Healthy boundaries.
You can start by just asserting a little bit of healthy boundaries and go from there. Say No.
You might find some of this helpful.
Much love
