why do some people do not become addicted to porn

I want to know why some people do and some people don't become addicted to porn with the same usage? If dopamine is such a driving chemical causing all this and porn is a super natural stimulant, why do some (most ) people escape it? Is there any research around this point?

the bigger question is why some people dont get pied. I have a friend who is a mega coomer to porn and he even watches more disgusting stuff than i ever did yet he never had pied.

they may be addicted to porn, but the symptoms arent as noticable. often until its too late and their cock stops working.

Would be curious to know what the research says about this. For instance, I have a long history of family issue with addiction...drugs and alcohol. Have used drugs and alcohol, but not enough for addictions. Now, don't even like a couple of glasses of wine per week that much. But for many years, Porn has been my addiction...has been my "fix".

how do you know he never gets it?
I told him that porn can cause ed, but then he said that he never had this problem when it came to the deed. From what he said he had a lot of encounters in high school(every week new girl). It may or may not be true obviously, but I feel like he doesn't have a reason to lie to me.

We can look at ourselves as purely a biological machine that exists only here and now and this addiction being a mechanical problem. As such we would only look into the hormones and how the physical brain works.

What if there is more to us than what we can measure in a biology/neuroscience lab?
What if past lives are real and the karma accumulated in the past lives effects us here and now?
What if there are literally some beings we cannot see that are interfering with us?
What if we signed without informed consent some non-visible contracts to have our sexual energy syphoned?
...

Just some food for thought. Please only take what resonates and stroll past what doesn't. Thank you.

A lot of advice on this forum is based on empirical-physical experiences of people who have gone through this addiction. Almost all the comments and suggestions given in this forum are based on the aggregate's physically reproducible (with variability) experiments. Metaphysical pondering have their place, but because of its lack of reproducible process (because of current state of our civilization) would hardly help anybody here for this addiction. But if this resonates with you, and helps you, go for it. all power to you.

Without being able to give any researches i think, its just the exact same thing as with any other drug. Is everybody, who is using alcohol truly addicted? Not really, there are a lot of grades to this. Although there are drugs, which are making it very likely you getting addicted to it (nicotine, heroine), its not a must. Reasons and factors can be biologocal and genetical as well as sociological and psychological as far as i am aware. I think, whats very nasty about P is, once you are getting addicted, its very difficult to get off of it again. By my own experience i can say, that i found it easier to quit cigarettes (almost a package daily) than to stop P. A lot of other P users say similar things.

Being sexual active in your early ages or before you start using P seems to minimize the possibilty and severity of PIED, although this can also be different for different people.
