Life has been very frustrating for me for the last 3 days. Job, relationships, problems, etc. Last night and this morning I found time to give thanks. It helps. I also am focusing on praising the Lord.

Second, I printed out the Feb 18th Armor of God thread which is already helping. That article quotes “Whatever is true, noble, right, pure,” etc, think about that. Based on that, I am focusing on thinking about something positive and good. This is a big improvement for me. When life gets bad I go to “My” solutions, not “God's” solutions. I am changing that.

Third, studying that verse, I realized today that I had been thinking in a way that was not really “true.” God's ways are true and best for me. Falling to my lower desires doesn't make my life better.

Finally, I am horrified that I have never printed out a page of the best verses on frustration. That is my next plan.

John 16:33 ESV I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

1 Peter 5:7 ESV Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Philippians 4:7 ESV And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

If frustration always leads to a fall, satan will often work on keeping you frustrated. Always think about what tricks he is using on you. Then fight back.

This article contains very harsh Bible verses. Please only proceed if that is what you want.

Many are confused by Bible verses. Here is a verse at the beginning of the timeline of life. “If you call on the name of the Lord, you will be saved.” Here is one in the middle of the timeline: If you look upon a woman with lust, you have already committed adultery with her. Here is one at the end of the timeline:

Matthew 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.

Many churches teach the beginning of the timeline, some teach the middle of it, but... very few get all the way to the verses at the end of the timeline. This is unfortunate, because, the verses at the end are much more important than the ones at the beginning. They say what happens at the end.

People avoid the verses for quitting like the plague. They avoid them because some of these verses are what happens at the end of the timeline. If you avoid these verses, will what they say still happen? If these verses are not true then Christianity is a sham, a fake, all made-up stuff like evolution.

This is why Jesus said to tear out an eye that causes you to sin. That action is better than hell.

Second, it is almost impossible to make habits of the 10 new habits you need to form if you don't believe the verses at the end of the timeline.

Third, Jesus is very forceful and very clear... Learn these new habits and quit looking with lust, or else.

Fourth, many do 10% of what is recommended at this site, some do 15%, and only a few even do 20%.

Fifth, what percentage of the habits would you learn if you memorized Matthew 5:29 and quoted it twice a day?

Sixth, you will quit for good “when” you learn enough new habits. Pick a day of the week to test how close you are. For example, Saturday is the test day. How well did you progress with the habit of turning from lust this week? How well did you progress with the habit of finding your purpose and doing God's will? How well did you progress with the habit of fighting frustration and negative emotions? Were you organized daily in your fight? How well did you progress with the habit of working on being prepared for triggers? What positive addictions did you increase in this week?

Seventh, Jesus hammers lust, adultery, and fornication because it totally ruins us. He knows that a pure mind starts to lead to joy.

Finally, memorizing the tough verses leads to forming great habits for quitting.

If we change what we think about we have a pretty good chance of quitting. If after 90 days we consistently think about 10 new healthy things daily we have increased our odds of quitting massively.

The Bible says to think about things that are true. #1 If you are a Christian, people around you are going to hell. Thinking about this truth should inspire us to work harder to quit. To think about this consider praying several times daily:

“Father, help me to turn from lust, and help me to care about souls.”

Second, decide to be positive. Decide to be a shining light. We can either think work/school is going to stink today, or we can think, “I will try to do everything I can to make it good for the people around me today.”

Third, quote a great verse each day. If you stink at memorizing verses simply put them in a file in your phone. Consider memorizing: 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

This verse is truth. Thinking about walking in the Light (Living God's way) is thinking about truth.

Finally, wisdom is truth. Think about and consider praying several times daily:

“Father, fill me with Your wisdom, and help me to run from lust.”

Read Proverbs to learn about wisdom. Additionally, this book is filled with warnings about lust/fornication/adultery.

Wisdom is taking time this weekend to plan a Bible verse to quote for every day next week. Wisdom is planning prayers for every day next week. Wisdom is making the decision to make it a priority to think about things that are true every day next week.

Thinking right leads to right actions which leads to success.

Be prepared to fight bad thoughts everywhere. There you are, at Walmart, and there they are, and you stare at their butt or whatever incessantly. Be 100% aware, this increases temptation for porn 100%.

The Bible says to “Cast down arguments.” At Walmart, the argument is, “I want to look at this.” That's your flesh talking. But we must fight back, turn, and replace that thought.

My friend asked me what is the golden standard for following God's ways in the area of lust. I said, “To learn the scriptures about lust and to quote one every time you have a lustful thought, or an opportunity to look with lust.”

Second, if you think 100 wrong thoughts about lust, it is your job to “Cast down” these 100 wrong thoughts.

Third, Jimmy Evans said, “Any thought that you don't take captive will take you captive.” Consider memorizing that sentence.

Fourth, God wants us to take thoughts captive “By force.” Attack, attack attack. Satan will always attack you. Now... always attack him back.

Fifth, Jimmy said, “We must have relevant scripture loaded in our heads to replace bad thoughts.” For this great video click.

That is a wise thought.

Finally, when you read articles, always consider writing out a “Shortlist” of things you can use from the article every day from now on. Write out two short things from the article and then pray about and determine to quote and pray about these two things tomorrow and this week. You may also always add something like, “Learn the habit of praising the Lord” as your third item for every day. But the key is... Keep it short and do it in real life.

Taylor Swift is a rock star. 8 years ago I assumed she was a star based on her great looks and good voice. But after watching a movie that goes behind the scenes, I realized, she lives, breathes, and thinks about music all the time. She constantly writes and records songs.

To quit, we need to have a focus on quitting the way she focuses on being a rock star.

#1 At what times during the day can you add an increased focus on quitting? If you have a ton of time to daydream lustful thoughts at work, then... You have enough time to quote some Bible verses, and prayers to fight back.

#2 When you get home from work or school, consider taking time to reboot and get prepared for the battle. Many study on this site before work or late at night, but, it helps to reboot after life blasts us again at work or school.

#3 Taylor thinks and works on music all the time because she prob wants to be a billionaire, star. We should consider increasing our focus to lower the destruction and to start to find joy.

#4 Taylor gets the smartest music producers she can find. To quit we need to think about spending more time studying the “best” article, or articles for our exact situation. What sinks you? Where are the articles that can help you change that? Do you need to read them again and again if you have the same issue again and again?

#5 Taylor has experts who advise her on how to be a huge star. We need to strive to be around people who have it together. People who are spiritual giants. People who have overcome long-term habits. Often, pastors or priests love to talk to someone who really wants to quit. But even being around people who have it together is helpful. They are living a great life. I can live one also.

Finally, consider filling out your shortlist of what you will “do” based on today's articles. Reading is great, and doing and forming habits is even better.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Read this, study it, memorize it. If you learn to love the Bible you will have a great life. Do you want to be prosperous?

When I meditate on scripture, all of a sudden a light comes on. God's way is best. Based on the above verse, what would your life look like in 3 months if you meditated on a new scripture, adding one every other day? Constantly working on quoting these scriptures and making them a part of you? Consider praying about that for 5 minutes.

Finally, study the chapter from the March 3 article in this thread. It is a great recipe for living. Pray over it, think about it, live it.

You are at home and want a bowl of ice cream. Think first. Can you increase your pleasure with a large bowl of ice cream instead of a half bowl? No! Overindulgence never increases pleasure. You need to think about hundreds of hours in front of the mirror. Trips to the doctor because of bad health. Lower energy etc.

Second, your pleasure from ice cream is 60% from anticipation. 35% from the first few delicious spoonfuls. Then the last 5% from a hair more pleasure that you barely notice as you shovel away.

Instead, think first, have half a bowl, eat more slowly, then start to enjoy your next 100 hours in good health, better energy, and time spent in front of the mirror.

Overeating is not because you increase pleasure from food. It's because that is “What you want to do.”

Third, you want to watch a movie. Think first. You want the risky one filled with beautiful, wild people. Can you increase your pleasure with a risky movie instead of a clean one? No! Overindulgence never increases pleasure. You need to think about hundreds of hours in darkness and depression when the risky movie drags you back to your habit.

Second, your pleasure from a risky movie/TV show is 50% from anticipation. 45% from the first few risky scenes. Then the last 5% from a hair more pleasure that you barely notice as you are now frustrated because you are getting overwhelmed with temptation to go back to _______.

Instead, make a better movie/TV choice and praise the Lord while you watch it.

Fourth, even a clean movie or even a walk in the park has some risks. Be ready to “instantly” turn from lust. Pray in advance of risk, pray often, pray always (The Bible says to pray always).

Consider praying:

“Father, help me to run from lust like Joseph did.”

Finally, if you show me someone who prays hundreds of times per day to run from lust... I will say – you just showed me someone who lives their life with pleasure to the max (Over the long term).

All of the Bible is this way. God wants what is best for us. When we do things His way, our life is always best in the long run. Reject short-term temptation, “think,” and make it through 15 minutes after temptation strikes, and you will be able to make a good decision.

Jesus is the rock. Toughness is a big part of quitting. A rock is tough, Jesus is tough. He continued living the right way when bad things happened to him.

When life gets tough, get tough. Try praying, Lord, help me to be tough. In tough situations, try saying, I will be tough (repeatedly). Try doing this because your mind and body are rebelling and want to give up. As an alternative, think, about what would Jesus do in this situation.

Get doubly tough with new activities. When life gets tough, stay right with God, then, dig into new activities. It takes toughness to stick with new activities when you want _____. But be tough, stay tough, ask for Jesus' help to be tough, and in doing so, you will find a technique that will keep you living right.

Quitting addiction without God is impossible. We either quit addiction and do what God wants or we change addictions. Some quit by a complete dedication to sports or hobbies. But in these cases, they simply have a new addiction, one that is way better, and less destructive. However, finding their full God-given purpose will remain elusive.

To quit with God, simply read the many articles on this site about the Bible. Then immerse yourself in the Bible by doing as many things regarding the Bible as possible. Jesus is the Word (The Bible). Once you fully get Him inside you, negative addictions will die out.

Find 7 ways to use the Bible to quit. It is the best way to quit.

Yesterday was bad. To fight back I prayed the following prayers back to back repeatedly:

“Lord, help me to love.”

“Father, help me to be tough.”

“Father, help me to turn from lust.”

“Father, show me Your will.”

Every time I started to think about bad stuff, I started to pray these prayers again. When we fight back, problems that would normally sink us start to be manageable. Why? Partly because now we are focused on other things, and partly because prayer activates God's help in our lives.

The Bible says to think about good things. This year is the first year for me to be doing that.

Don't let the bad eat up the good. Planning and prayer lead to stopping.

This post contains harsh Bible verses and Spiritual content. Please proceed if that is what you want.

The Bible says to think about things that are noble. Noble thoughts are majestic, awesome thoughts. Today we can think: God has a plan for me, or, God has a great plan for me, if I sit around thinking about problems, lust, money... I may miss the majestic plan He has for me.

The Bible says, “For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.” (Romans 1:21–25, ESV).

Paul said to “Set your mind on things above not on earthly things.” Noble thoughts are things like doing God's will, thinking about helping others, as well as storing up treasures in heaven.

Second, thinking about things that are noble means thinking about honorable things. noted:

“Jesus is our standard for honor and character. He displayed the decorum and honor of heaven and proved it is possible to live upon this earth with such a life. And now that same Jesus, through His Spirit, lives in you! It is imperative that our minds stay focused upon Him! The boundary for our minds is not just what is true but what is honorable, respectable, reverent, and dignified.

How has your mind been recently? Are the thoughts you dwell upon filled with honor? Are they reverent? Are they dignified—a thought process that is worthy of respect?”

Third, to increase in noble thoughts consider writing prayers that fight bad habits and increase in noble thoughts. Consider praying:

“Father, help me to turn from lust and help me to care about souls.”

"Father, show me how wrong thoughts poison my life. Help me to live with honor and reverence."

“Father, help me to love and help people more than I love pleasure.”

If we think right, we will live right. Try to make it a habit to think right.

Adam and Eve “Saw the fruit,” it pleased their eyes, and they ate it. Eating it opened their eyes. Which eyes? Their physical eyes. Also at that exact moment, their spiritual eyes were closed. When our spiritual eyes close we fall into darkness. When our physical eyes open we start the craving for lust which is never satisfied.

Satan says,” Look at that person, look at that bank account, look at that problem.” Instead, we must develop the habit of looking at Jesus. It is wise to work every day on 1-3 things we should be thinking about. Then, when satan tries this trick simply focus on those 1-3 things you should be thinking about.

Second, if we look our spiritual eyes will remain closed. If we look for one second, should we repent? I looked for 1 second at a movie. It was accidental, I was turning away instantly. But I repented anyway. The fact was, I started this movie filled with big stars. I assumed it would not be filled with trash. I started to realize it was filled with trash, but I gave it a few more minutes and then it proved it was completely filled with trash.

Third, many risk darkness by saying, what I did was not so bad. I wonder what Eve thinks of that strategy. Instead, I stopped the movie, banned it for all time, and repented. Did I sin by continuing to watch? Honestly, I don't know... but I do know, I don't want to be sloppy and end up in darkness again. Consider praying:

“Father, help me to turn instantly from lust.”

One second, one bite, one look. How much destruction could it cause? Ask Adam and Eve.

Peter walked on water. I knew someone who also walked on water (spiritually).

My Aunt was divorced, broke, and raised two kids alone. And, she was completely filled with God's joy. How? Because her God was big, huge, mighty, powerful, able to do anything. For every minute that I knew her she always kept her eyes and thoughts on Jesus. Consider praying:

“Father, show me how to walk on water.”

When we pray that prayer it may allow us to hear God's voice. He might say, “Be positive,” or, “You can't be depressed while you are praising me,” or, “I love you.”

Some will scoff at me acting like God will show any repentant person personal time. But the truth is, I don't know exactly what you need to hear today. The exact thing you need to change today may only be available if you give God a chance to communicate with you.

Second, my aunt had the habit of practicing rapid repentance. That is step one to walking on water. She always dug into the scriptures (step two). She was constantly in prayer (step three). She always tried to do God's will (step four).

Third, if my aunt was still alive and read an article like this... She would pray that prayer a hundred or more times until she would hear from God. Like Jacob, she would wrestle with God until she found God. That is step five in walking on water (Spiritually).

Five steps. Walk them out and see what happens.

The 1-2 Habit

1-2 is a top 5 habit to have for quitting. The 1-2 is writing out or copying and pasting 1-2 key points from articles you like. Write out a top tip (or two) so that you can begin to remember it and implement it into your daily thoughts/life. Consider praying:

“Jesus, teach me Your Word for quitting.”

In Matthew 4 Jesus quoted a verse to combat every temptation. It is vital to copy how Jesus handled temptation. Consider quoting during temptation:

Romans 8:6 ESV For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

During temptation, it is wise to know yourself. Pick a verse or verses that will stop the temptation cold, dead.

Second, take pride in how many ideas/prayers from the 1-2 system that you can remember and quote over the course of the week.

Third, put the 1-2 tips in your phone. Here is how it might work. You are at a buddies house talking. The TV is blaring temptation blatantly. You turn away and look at the tips in your phone.

Finally, it is hard to take ideas, then, turn them into reality. It takes constant effort. But it will be one of the smartest things you ever did in your life if you decide to fight temptation at all times.

It is wise to be honest when we slip into blatant sin. Our car needs a big repair, our brother is making us mad, and the dog has fleas. We have a perfect excuse to fall back into sin. We have every right to fall. Every reason. It is justified. God will understand. Wait! Will He?

When I slam the door on God's face by sinning, the very least I can do is to be sheepish about it. Better yet, I could say I am sorry, in advance. Better yet I should say, “I know this will cause destruction and darkness,” in advance.

My sin is not caused by bad things happening. The circumstances are not the problem, the sin is.

Jesus gave us His Holy Spirit when He died on the cross for us. When bad things happen we ask the Holy Spirit to help us through those bad things. If I write an article on a bad day (instead of falling) it seems like more people appreciate it. My trying to fight through a bad day helps a lot more people than some complicated article with big ideas.

Prepare for bad days by fighting bad thoughts several times a day. In what place can you put a verse on lust so that you see it every day? Example: Place this verse on your bathroom mirror and read it while brushing your teeth:

Matthew 6:22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy,[a] your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy,[b] your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”

Second, have a sticky note prayer reminder. If you have been working on this prayer you might be prompted to pray it by writing, “Turn, care.” The whole prayer is:

“Father, help me to turn from lust, and care about people.”

Pick a place where you can put a note like this.

Third, give God an hour on a bad day to start steering you in the right direction. Better yet... If you want joy, just give Him the whole day.

Finally, bad days are often the best days to be more filled with the Holy Spirit. Because He wants people who would rather have Him than sin.

With the 1-2 habit, we write down 1-2 key things from an article. To triple its effectiveness set an alarm to review these key items every 30 minutes. Obviously, this only works when you are more alone and can review the key things for a few minutes. But, those are the times when temptation ramps up.

Second, Colossians 3:5 “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

Consider praying:

“Father, teach me how to put lust to death.”

Satan wants us to peek a tiny bit, to keep looking for just a second, to wait to turn away for an instant. Why does God want us to put lust “To death.” #1 The Bible commands us to be “Filled with the Holy Spirit.” A peek, a look, a pause stops this filling dead for more than a minute or two. Note: Treat intentional looks with rapid repentance. Don't try to fool God, he knows exactly how intentional it was. #2 Cheating keeps us from our purpose and from joy. When we cheat, someone is getting cheated. To find out who, check your mirror. Consider praying:

“Father, help me to turn from lust and show me how to find joy.”

We find joy in purpose and in the presence of the Lord. Remember the two P's, purpose and presence. They will start you down the path toward joy.

This article contains remarks about Jesus as well as other hot-button spiritual things. Please proceed if that is what you want.

The Bible says we can find a way out from temptation. One way out is to find an article that addresses our current situation. I have over 100 titles in the Christian group to choose from. Many others have great articles as well. Example: An article on prayer is great, but if you are totally frustrated, it is better to review an article on frustration.

Sometimes, no title seems perfect for your situation. In that case, spend 3 minutes in prayer, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you find an article.

Second, verses on lust fight off temptation, but when you don't have time for that, consider praying Jesus' blood over the temptation. My last few days have been up and down, and temptation is coming out of the blue. So, I am picturing the cross and thanking Jesus for the blood He shed for me on the cross. It is working for me.

Finally, consider praying often about finding key articles that could help you go to war with problems that cause you to fall over and over again. Deep-seeded problems need to be pounded on repeatedly. Finding an answer is step one. Step two is reading solutions over and over again until you start thinking about the solutions in key situations.

To think right means to think the opposite of wrong. If we are not happy with someone close to us, thinking bad about them is wrong. Thinking right is to think about contentment and love, then to pray about contentment and love.

Second, to allow anxiety or anger to rule us is wrong. To think right consider having a couple of Bible verses in your phone to fight the negative emotion. Then think about those verses, then write a couple of short prayers about the specific emotion.

Third, some days do stink. But there will be another tomorrow. Praise the Lord, get tough, and give thanks that a better day is coming.

Fourth, work stinks, school stinks, and _______ stinks. Don't keep thinking about those things. Give thanks for good things, then think about helping others. Then pray about helping others.

Finally, we all take time to think about what is bad about our lives. To think right, think about what is good about your life. Consider making it a habit to focus on what is good about your life.
