THE BEST SPIRITUAL WAY TO FIGHT TEMPTATION

The Bible says “If I do not have love, I have nothing.” It is hard to quit _____ if you have nothing.

When we get key Bible verses in us, the Holy Spirit increases in us, and He is not going to be a slave to ______. Consider printing out this key passage so you can pray over it often so that you are more filled with the Holy Spirit and more filled with love.

4 Love is patient.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to be patient.”

“Love is kind.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to be kind.”

It does not envy. Consider praying, “Father, help me to never envy.”

“It does not boast.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to not boast.”

“It is not proud.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to be humble.”

5 It does not dishonor others.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to not dishonor others.”

“It is not self-seeking,” Consider praying, “Father, help me to put others first.”

“It is not easily angered.” Consider praying, “Father, take away my spirit of anger.”

“It keeps no record of wrongs. Consider praying, “Father, help me to forgive.”

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to run from evil and to think about good.”

7 It always protects,” Consider praying, “Father, help me to protect.”

“It always trusts.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to always trust.”

It always hopes.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to keep hope.”

It always perseveres.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to always try to love.”

8 Love never fails.” Consider praying, “Father, help me to never fail with love.”

Purpose is a top three quitting technique. If we do not have love, it will be really hard to have purpose. When we pray over this passage, our testimony improves, relationships improve, our infilling of the Spirit increases, we are more filled with light, and our joy begins to improve.

Finally, I have prayed over this section hundreds of times. I usually think, I haven’t changed at all. But then a year later I realize, things have changed, things have improved, God was exactly right about this also.

Quitting involves habits of doing “Right things.” God is love. Praying over this passage is about as right as we can get. Doing so increases the Spirit in you. Once the Spirit increases in you enough, you can quit.

I rate “Daily Bible-study (5 chapters per day if you have time) as a great tip for quitting. I rate a block of time in prayer as a great tip for quitting. But many hear about praying for an hour a day and think, “I have no idea how to do that.” Here is an idea that anyone can do if they simply say, “I want to be more dedicated to God.”

Consider searching “Bible chapters that are good to pray over.” You will find many great ideas on Google. For example, I have prayed and thought about Psalm one often.

First, praying over any passage is a great distraction activity.

Second, this process increases the Holy Spirit in us.

Third, Psalm One is very inspirational to me. It says that I can be blessed and prosper. It tells me how to try to do that. For me, it took years to learn to do what the passage says to do, but every time I think about it I move forward in a positive manner.

Fourth, the more we get scripture in us the more we are inspired to do God's will.

Fifth, Billy Graham was a great evangelist. Many were saved. But many less people know the story of the woman who constantly prayed for him. Pearle Goode went on crusade with Billy and prayed and prayed for hours daily for him. Thousands, if not millions were saved. At Pearl's memorial service, Ruth Bell Graham spoke these encouraging words concerning her: “Here lie the mortal remains of much of the secret of Bill’s ministry.” What an honor.

Today, consider finding a ministry that you believe in and pray for it every day.

Starting to find purpose is a top 5 way to quit. Consider starting today.

Today I am writing about exercise and praise, but first a story:

A woman “Touched Jesus.” Many in that crowd touched Jesus but only that woman “Touched Him.” When I was young I wondered, “Wow, what would it be like to Touch Jesus.”

Someone I personally knew (Let's call him Bart) was trying to quit. I said, “Pound out that habit with specific Bible verses (Search “Verses ______.” Put your habit of choice in the blank. Then bring these verses up again and again to fight temptation.

Second, many have prayed, gone to church, and done a lot of spiritual things, but only a few “Touch Jesus.” Something that woman did, caused her touch to be a special touch.

Something Bart did also allowed him to “Touch Jesus.” His verses increased his faith, brought him closer to Jesus, taught him, inspired him, and helped him to learn the fear of God.

Bart did quit, his verses pounded his habit right out of him.

I had “never” seen Bart have peace before. Now he has peace.

Third, exercise is a great distraction, and once we make it a habit, it makes us feel better, and sometimes it gives us more resilience for quitting. First, start slow, then do more over time. It is more important to make it a long term habit than it is to try to become fit this week.

Fourth, consider adding the practice of praising the Lord while you exercise. The Bible commands us to praise the Lord, plus it is a huge key for quitting.

Finally, what habits do you want to add that will bring you closer to “Touching Jesus?” Those who touch Him usually get great changes in their lives.

The Lord's prayer says that God forgives our sins, “As we forgive those who sin against us.”
When we don't forgive others, satan has every right to tempt us all the time. Forgiving others is that important. Consider praying:
“Father, help me to forgive _____________.”
Forgiving others increases God's love in us, it takes us from darkness into light, (We also have to repent for that) and it gives us a chance to have joy.
People read a bunch of Bible chapters, and have a block of time in prayer, but, if they don't forgive, they have a power outage.
Second, pray for self-control over secondary habits. We know that praying for self-control for our main habit is a crap shoot. Against a stronghold, a few simple prayers may not work. Only prayers that include quitting verses are for sure helpful, but against other habits, prayers for self-control can help. Example:
Paul wants to quit smoking and drinking. He has a massive stronghold with drinking, but he read that smoking leads back to drinking for many people. In his case, he loves his drinking and knows it leads to destruction, but he hates his smoking and he knows it leads to destruction. So a prayer for his secondary addiction like:
“Father, give me self-control over smoking,“ may very well work. He is willing to delay smoking, or do other things to avoid it, while drinking still really has him.
Third, what secondary habit do you do that leads back to temptation increasing with your main habit?
Today, consider writing a prayer for going to war with that contributing habit.
Fourth, consider having strict planning for that secondary habit. If it leads to your main habit, then fighting it helps to lower temptation for the #1 thing that you want to quit first.
Finally, what things will you work on today, and this week?

Note: This post contains harsh Bible verses. Please proceed if that is what you want.

Mark 9:47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— 48 where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
The Bible insists on change. I recommend having a quitting notebook and filling it with tips for quitting daily. Why? To avoid the underlined part of that verse.
Second, consider praying:
“Father, show me the seriousness of my habit.”
Third, what if your habit is not a Biblical sin? I would still do this exercise because what did Jesus say regarding getting to heaven? “Only those who do the will of my Father in heaven.” Only 49% of quitting is what you stop doing. 51% is what you start doing.
Fifth, consider praying over this verse during the block of time when you are praying about “What God wants you to do.”
Finally, don't be quick to believe what any man says about these verses. Read them, study them, pray over them. That is how you unleash the power of God into your life.

Psalm 96 says, “Oh, sing to the Lord a new song!”

This is a great tip for quitting because singing to the Lord increases the Holy Spirit in us. The more the Spirit is in us, the more we can fight back.

Consider searching “Christian ____________.” In the blank put the style of music you like. There is almost certainly a Christian version of it.

But, what if you currently only listen to nonchristian music? Today, consider spending a block of time trying Christian music. Combine that with quoting your quitting verse and praying your quitting prayer. If you do that for an hour you might be like: “Wow, that was a good hour, I should do that more often.”

Verse 4 “For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised.”

David says dozens of times to “Praise the Lord.” Consider always trying to learn this great quitting habit. Praise brings Light into our lives. When the Light is bright enough, fighting temptation becomes easier.

Verse 10 “He shall judge the peoples righteously.”

I am a Detroit Lions fan. The Lions (Pro Football) are always prepared for their games. The Dallas Cowboys prepared poorly for this season. The press is judging them for their lack of preparation.

The Lions put in the work to be great this season. Because they are prepared, they are having fun and success this year.

Finally, how will you prepare for the battle? Which Bible verses would it be wise to review today?

The rewards are great for those who prepare properly.

Joy is long-term, and fun is short-term. Joy can (and should be) consistent, fun is always fleeting.
Second, consider always working on the habit of turning from lust. Lust leads to destruction.
Third, fun is usually okay, the problem is when fun is sinful, or if too much fun keeps us from doing God's will (God insists that we do His will).
Fourth, what is your #1 goal in life? Be honest.
Very few people answer: Treasures in heaven, or doing God's will. But if you want joy, consider researching how to do these great goals.
Fifth, fun in excess, and sinful fun lead to destruction. Joy leads to pleasures and blessings.
Psalm 16:11 In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Every time I say, “Doing this will increase the Holy Spirit in you,” you are doing something to increase God's presence in your life. Note: We only enter God's presence when we practice rapid repentance. Sin does not mix with His Holy presence.
Psalm 16:11 ESV You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Sixth, do we miss out on fun if we always choose joy? Only very, very rarely. But... Satan will tell you 1000 times about how you are missing “All the fun,” on those rare occasions where you might miss out on a speck of fun.
Seventh, the above verse tells us that doing things God's way leads to pleasures forevermore.” Pleasures forevermore sounds like fun doesn't it?
Eighth, if you believe satan's lies, you will also soon experience that doing things his way causes destruction. Choosing his short-term fun is a disaster.
Finally, what will you change today to start on a new road of choosing joy instead of wrongful things?

Practice the habit of "Turning from lust" before you watch TV/computer/phone. Before starting any of these things consider praying:

"Father, help me to turn from lust."

Then keep praying it often while doing these riskier activities.

Next, the Bible says in Isaiah: “Seek the Lord while He may be found,

Call upon Him while He is near.”

Satan says: “Go back to your habit. This will be the last time. After this time you will do things God's way.”

He is lying again. Read the verse again.

Be honest. If you decide to fall say: “I am pouring gas on my habit, and it will cause me destruction.” Be honest. Speak what is really happening, not what satan says is happening.

Some churches say to seek the Lord, but they forget that it is hard to find the Lord, unless we go to war with sin. If habitual sin continues... can He be found?

Second, some decide to seek the Lord for a block of time every day. This is very wise.

Third, start seeking the Lord by praying over your quitting verses first. Do it this way if you want to “Find Him.” When you seek the Lord you are communicating with the “Holy” Spirit. So the first step toward seeking Him should involve trying to be Holy.

Matthew 6:33 ESV But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

I can promise you that in my life, this verse has been completely true.

Fourth, what does, “All these things will be added to you,” mean?

I will say, I gave up a lot of things to try to serve God over the years. But, by this point, I have received everything back plus joy and purpose. The Bible was right again.

Finally, what changes will you make based on these verses?

Thanks for sharing. It is so nice to learn to put God first in everything we do. We are so imperfect, we need God.

1 Corinthians 9:27 ESV
But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”

Study it, memorize it, believe it… God said it, not me! Use this verse to inspire yourself to dig into a plan that will start to work.
Proverbs 12:1 ESV
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.”
Consider praying: “Father, I will learn from Your reproof, please help me to love discipline. Consider setting an hourly alarm on your phone to remind you to read these verses and say this prayer if you want to acquire discipline.
Revelation 3:19 ESV
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.”
Today, repent and start a zealous war against lust. God has things He wants you to do.
Today, practice the habit of turning from lust and consider picking one of the fruits of the Spirit to pray about and focus on. Galations 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.”
Today, plan how to increase discipline. It is a Godly trait.

Either our flesh or satan will plant lustful thoughts in our minds. We can reject them, and we must reject them.

Step one: Determine to control your thoughts. Experts at discipline struggle and say: I need more notes to remind me to reject bad thoughts. I need to pray more so that the Holy Spirit helps me more. I need to have more Bible verses available so that I can fight back effectively.

I need to say and think more often: “I will control my thoughts.” I need to pray more often:

“Father, help me to control my thoughts.”

Step two: Always “try” to reject lustful and sinful thoughts. Today I will watch pro football. Many receivers were drafted in the first round. The Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown was picked in the 4th round but he has more catches than the 17 receivers picked before him. Why? He “Tries harder.” Not only this week but this month and “All year.”

Rejecting and replacing lustful thoughts is a skill that takes time to master. Consider praying:

“Father, help me to work on the skill of rejecting and replacing lustful thoughts every day.”

Today, consider praying this when lustful thoughts strike:

“In the name of Jesus, I reject this thought.”

Next, replace that wrong thought with a thought of either love, joy, peace, or temperance.

Example: a _______ thought pops into your head. Pray:

"Father, I reject this thought, teach me how to have your peace."

Today, pray about whether you will make a lifestyle choice to consistently “Try” to reject and replace lustful thoughts. It is a key to quitting.

The Quitting Circle is choosing to “Continuously, consistently work on quitting.” Many are frustrated with trying to quit to the point of saying, “Well... I am going to try to quit, but I know it will not stick.”
This is different, the goal of the Quitting Circle is to “Continuously, consistently work on quitting.” I played violin as a kid. I practiced daily. I never payed any attention to anything except that I practiced. I won a state-wide high school violin contest while in the seventh grade using this method.
The Quitting Circle is spending a block of time “Every day” working on quitting. Second, the quitting circle is simply using your phone alarm (Or any alarm) to remind you to work on quitting at least for three minutes every 30 minutes.
John 8:34 ESV Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.” Consider praying:
“Father, show me how slavery to sin keeps me from joy.”
To execute the Quitting Circle you simply take a new prayer (Or, use your quitting prayer if there is not a new one), and take a new verse (Or, use your quitting verse if there is not a new one), and quote and pray these two things every thirty minutes.
Obviously, if you are busy you can change it to once an hour. Or, if you are at work you can shorten things:
Example, for today, shorten this to: “I will fight my slavery to sin, help me Lord.”
Reminder: Every prayer must be completely sincere, with a full desire to change.
Reminder: The verse is always the bigger priority based on Jesus' example of fighting temptation.
Finally, everyone can succeed at using the Quitting Circle. The goal is simply to do it all the time.
The Quitting Circle pounds out habits sooner, or later if you make “It” a habit.
As always, feel free to print this out for your own personal use (Or, church group use).

1 Peter 4:8 ESV Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

51% of quitting is what we now start “To do.” If you quit ______ without love, now you need to join a church who is without love to fit in. Consider praying:

“Father, I will fight this habit, please help me fight it, and fill me with Your love.”

If you make a breakthrough with love, will not God respond? God has millions of Christians who show the world their traditions. That helps only a few people. God has only a few people who show the world “His Great Love.”

Sooner, or later, God starts to empower people who, #1 Go to war with sin, #2 Dig into His Word, and #3 Pray often, and quote scriptures often on love.

Second, consider setting an alarm every 30 minutes to quote a direct quitting scripture like:

Job 31:1 ESV “I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?

Then add your quitting prayer.

Finally, consider switching to this verse on love with every other alarm. I need to increase in love, we need to increase in love. Jesus is love.

I am a Bible first person. If you need a healing, check with the Bible first with “Verses healing.” If your emotions are killing you, check with the Bible first with “Verses _______ (fill in the blank with the emotion that is killing you).” If you want to increase in wisdom (We all should want that), check with the Bible first with “Verses wisdom.”
Matthew 6:33 ESV But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
If you want a great life... Seek “First the kingdom of God and his righteousness.”
Emotions
Negative emotions lead back to addiction. So, we must identify what emotion leads us back to addiction and fight it aggressively.
Secondly, Anger leads to addiction. Consider praying: “Father, take away my spirit of anger and fill me with a Spirit of love.” I have prayed this prayer a zillion times. It really helped. Anger increases satans control, and that leads to…
Consider praying: “Father, help me to repent instantly from anger.”
Thirdly, bitterness. Life has taken a left turn and we let bitterness take control. They said or did the wrong thing. If we choose to stay bitter we ruin our life. Staying bitter is the exact opposite of creating your own Garden of Eden. Fight bitterness as if it will steal your joy (it will).
Consider praying: “Father, help me to forgive and forget.”
Consider praying: “Father, take away my spirit of bitterness and fill me with Your love.”
Fourthly hopelessness. The Bible encourages us to always hope. The reason for this is because sometimes we can only see what we see. And when it is bad we lose hope. But Jesus sees you, in the future, when the Holy Spirit is fully in you. He sees the person who can take anything satan throws at them, and still is capable of doing His will.
Consider praying: “Father, help me to always hope.”
Finally, we look at the second half of the verse, “and give me life in your ways. Give me “life” means starting to live in God’s joy, glory, presence, and love. If you want to see a sharp increase in these, consider praying this prayer often: “Father, show me Your ways and help me to do Your will.”
Today, consider searching “Verses ______” (Fill in the blank with the top emotion that you struggle with). Then pick one verse, and one prayer so you can go to war repeatedly with that emotion.
Emotions dragged me back to my habit 1000 times. Then I quit. From now on I will fight negative emotions tooth and nail.

This thread contains harsh verses. Please proceed if that if what you want.
I was told by a brilliant psychologist: “Tell people to live life with the end goal first.”
My end goal is heaven. When I am judged, I want the ending to be positive for me.
John 15 says if one does not bear fruit, they are like a branch that withers and is thrown into the fire. 100% of us need grace in this area, and prob 100% of us need to work on bearing more fruit. Consider praying:
“Father, help me to turn aggressively from thoughts of ______, and help me to care about souls.”
Second, thanksgiving is coming. Instead of thinking about how much I am going to eat, I am planning to pray this prayer as much as humanly possible.
Third, when we go to war with sin, and spend time in prayer, God will start to tell us what we should do. The problem is... We have to then “Do it.” If it is a small thing, still, do it, if it is a hard thing, still, do it, if you are not sure it is what God wants you to do, still, do it.
Fourth, When we go to war with sin and “Do” something for God, the Holy Spirit is with us mightily for at least a few minutes, or hours. We feel at least a glimpse of God's joy, and love.
Fifth, when we start doing more and more for God... Life gets good. I refuse to go back to my main habit. I refuse to go back to living the dark, wasted life that I formerly lived.
Sixth, I just love being around the person who just got saved, who has no idea about church, no idea about religion, no idea about how “We” expect them to live. And, they have more joy than we have, and they tell everybody about Jesus, and... everybody listens, and then they get saved.
Seventh, the Bible would not have verses like the one above if we would all just live the great life that Jesus has for us. If we would just be that person who does not know what to say... But, we have to say something. We know it is right, and we know it is good.
Eighth, my goal is to pray that prayer, and pray that prayer, and pray that prayer. Don't get upset by the verse. Pray, seek God's leading, then “Do it.”

I think that God had Eve eat an apple as the first sin on purpose. It was a minor sin, not like murder or rape. But I think He wanted it to be a minor sin to show that two huge problems with sin are separation from God, and a lack of faith that God's way is best.

So, if we want to return to paradise, we need to believe that “All sin” will ruin our return. And... we will fail in our quest to stamp out all sin, but if we make a dedicated quest to go to war with sin, we will start to make progress.

The more we make progress, the more the light comes on that God's way is best. There is one thing I have noticed. The people on this site who work the hardest are the people who have hundreds of clean days in. Why? The light is coming on that God's way is best. Secondly, their life is now way better than it was before, and they want to keep it that way.

Adam and Eve needed to believe God. They didn't. They chose an apple over paradise.

Do we need to be told that every sin ruins our life? Eating an apple ruined theirs.

Consider praying:” Father, show me the consequences of my sin.” Many reading this want to believe but...

The Bible says faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of the Lord. Read your Bible and watch Youtube sermons on how to quit sin habits. Take notes and work on the changes you read and hear about, and your faith will grow.

Lastly, people that spend the most time working on their addiction every day, succeed the most on average. And people who go to war with sin the most, succeed the most in returning to the Garden of Eden. You can have a great life.

Psalm 16:11 ESV
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

We find joy in God's presence. But we will not be fully in His presence if we have unconfessed sin in our lives. If we confess, repent, and have a plan to change, we start making progress.

Once we are in a right place with God we should start to feel His presence. If we don't feel it, it is wise to ask Him why. Sometimes we merely need to give Him praise and thanks to get in His presence. At other times He wants to show us some unknown sin that is keeping us from fulfilling what He wants us to do.

When I don't feel the presence of the Lord, I react very aggressively and try to get to the bottom of why. I will not live with darkness clouding my mind. Frustrations filling my head, anger filling my heart, or any other condition other than the presence of the Lord. I do this because I insist on living in joy.

Secondly, consider setting your PRIORITIES in Order.

Matthew 6:33, (CSB) – (Jesus said), “But seek first the kingdom of God[and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.”

Seek God first. Focus on righteousness first. When we live this way, we can start to feel the presence of the Lord.

Thirdly, pray. Someone said it like this, “When we pray, we talk to God. When we read the Bible, God talks to us.” When pursuing after God we need both – to talk to God, and to listen to God speak back.

Fourthly, consider seeking His Presence with HUMILITY. Through the prophet Isaiah God proclaims, “I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word” (Isaiah 66:2, CSB).

Humbly seek the Lord. I am always wrong. He is always right.

Fifthly, The Bible says “The righteous are bold as a lion.” Consider quoting this often if you need more boldness to do God's will.

Lastly, consider doing a soft memorization of John 15:1-11.

John 15:11 ESV
“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

Making a decision to “Live” the first 11 verses of John 15 is making a decision to “Find” the joy of the Lord.

Seek Him, have the right priorities, and you will find Him.

The Bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
If what I think is right conficts with scripture, I am wrong. If I keep acting in a wrong way, I need to pound specific scripture in me some more.
I need to stop leaning on my own understanding, and read specific scripture: Search Google – (Verses _______) until I understand “Why” God thinks it is so important to live a certain way.
I do have the wisdom to understand: God is right, and I am sometimes wrong, but I still lack the wisdom to always dig into scripture to fully understand why God writes it that way.
Second, Proverbs says: “Fear the Lord and depart from evil. 8 It will be health to your [c]flesh,
And strength[d] to your bones.” Consider praying:
“Father, help me to fear You, and help me to depart from evil.”

Third, Proverbs One says that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”

Proverbs 3:13 Says: “Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
And the man who gains understanding; 14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies,
And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
And happy are all who [e]retain her.
I have prayed thousands of times, each of these prayers:
“Father, help me to have wisdom.”
“Father, help me to turn from sin (Or from sinful temptations).
These scriptures note 5 things we should be constantly thinking and praying about instead of fixating on __________. What steps will you take to start thinking in a better way?

The Bible says to love others. To quit addictions, try that today (TTT). It says to forgive others, try that today (TTT). It says to bear fruit TTT, to obey TTT, to increase in the fruit of the Spirit TTT. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

Wow, that is a lot of things to try today. Who can do all of those things today? Tomorrow maybe I should focus on one topic. But when I do that, it won't work either, and more will be needed to solve the problem. Does anyone have the secret answer to quitting?

Yep, someone does. Jesus Christ does. And the secret answer is... the fire. If you really understand fire you know that it will burn and burn until everything is burnt up, or until someone puts the fire out.

A person who has the fire will take this article with a million things to try, and they will try and try to do as many things that are humanly possible. Then tomorrow, when I focus on one topic, they will try that and then come back to today's article, or another article on this site, or find a book on quitting addiction, or find a YouTube article on quitting.

Key point: A person who has the fire will keep fighting until the sin is burnt up. A person who has the fire will keep fighting until the Word (the Bible) is in them, until the Word directs them, until the Word controls them.

Pray to have the fire. Pray, “Father, fill me with your fire.” Highlight this prayer and put it on your mirror. Why? We need to stoke (stir up) the fire every day.

If you only develop a few habits this month, your life will change for the better permanently. Today, consider memorizing the key point paragraph. If you develop these habits your addiction will be gone.

Every day, satan will try to attack you. But on every day that you stoke the fire, it will be a fair battle, and one that you eventually will win. My daughter (The one I call the happiest person in Michigan) gets up early every day to pray and study the Bible. She always stokes the fire. And with the power that the fire gives her, she is always helping people.

Jesus is the light of the world because He is the fire. Strive to let that fire burn hotly, and permanently every day of your life.

This article contains a harsh Bible verse. Please proceed if that is what you want.

Proverbs 6:32 Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding;
He who does so destroys his own soul.”

But, what if it is only porn, or lust? What if you are a 18 year old who has never had sex one time in your life? What should your reaction be to this verse?

In my opinion, you should memorize it. You will still have 85% of the destruction this verse talks about. You still put up a wall between you and God. You still push Jesus' great love far away. You still have a boatload of destruction whether you know it yet or not.

Second, hiding this verse away in your heart increases the Holy Spirit in you. That is a great thing. Consider working on that today.
