Porn is not an option

Before you get to your year of abstinence, I want to make sure everyone understands your record because it’s the real you. You did 705 days of abstinence by September 2023 then a short relapse, then 80 days until very early January this year, and now basically a year clear from there. Do the math, that’s roughly 3 years and 3 months with two relapses. That’s what we’re looking at here. You inspire me to greater things.

Keep going, mate.

Day 359

7 more days brother! What's the new year resolutions / goals you've got? Would love to hear it, 2025 is gonna be a great year for the Blondie!
Thank you, @First_step_thousand_miles. It's great to hear from you. One goal would be to keep my head out of my ass and stay clean this entire next year. Deep down I know I can so it's just a matter of sticking to my principles and staying on target. I'll have to think more about whatever else comes to mind. If anything, I've never been a big New Year's resolution type of guy, because like Atomic Habits says, incremental changes is where it's at, and New Year's resolutions are more about big sudden changes which often only lead to disappointment in the end. If anything, I've been realizing over the last few weeks I've lost sight of some of those insights from Atomic Habits where I've forgot to focus on the here and now with my progress in each of my goals, which has led me to become overly stressed out about this and that in my life. So, my New Year's goal will be to not get caught up in long term goals but only make sure my daily habits are on target. Funny how that's a goal but it doesn't stress me out.

Love you, bud. I hope you're holidays are going fantastically!

Thank you for this, @GBS. This was one of the sweetest things I've ever read on here. It was just what I needed to read this morning. I really appreciate it and I hope your holidays are going swimmingly.

Keep inspiring all of us.

That's awesome to hear man. I agree that New Years resolutions are a waste in the traditional sense, I look at them as merely a checkpoint for goals I already started earlier (maybe in Aug of June or March or whatever) and take stock again. It's another natural point to re-tweak goals, but if that's the only time you're setting goals then you are doing it wrong

Good to hear you are doing well man. Love you too and hope you are getting some nice R&R!

Hey, @First_step_thousand_miles, that's a good idea about using New Years as a checkpoint for your goals and not looking at it in the traditional sense of the term. I will be thinking more about this today and how I might use this.

Thank you!

Everything is going well here. The Lady and I have had some great talks these last few days about this and that, and we've seen some light about certain things in our relationship that we never have before. It's amazing how long you can be with someone yet still discover something new about them and have an "aha moment." May those moments never end.

Seeing that today is New Year's Eve and that I first blew it a year ago tonight, I've been in a reflective mood these last few days and I've been thinking about what I've learned about myself over the last year. A year ago, although I knew I had anxiety from time to time, I would have never admitted that I actually had "anxiety issues" and that it was something I would need to deal with, especially in regards to how it leads me to certain behaviors that I often regret afterwards. After last year's incident, however, I became fully aware of its impact on my life, and the fact that if I didn't manfully address it outright, it would continue to address itself in ways I wouldn't appreciate. This has been a good thing for me to face head on and to be proactive with. Although I don't have all the answers yet, and it definitely hasn't gone away completely, just the fact that I'm aware of it and have remedies for it when the occasion calls, has lead me to greater mental success.

The philosophical maxim "Know thyself" seems to be just as important and relevant today as it was thousands of years ago.

I wish you all the best and have a great New Year's Eve.

It's really crazy to believe I'm standing right upon the threshold of a year now. With my propensity for blowing it at times like this, I feel as if I should command my Lady to tie me to the mast to keep mine eyes off the sirens, like Odysseus to his men. However, I'm feeling pretty damn clean at the moment and quite calm too, so those types of evasive measures I'll refrain from for the time being.

O that I might see my Penelope again!

You all have a great porn-free day

You’ve got this mate. By my calculation, as 2024 was a leap year, you need to get to 366…..but maybe we’ll let you off.

Hero. Porn, by the way, is not an option.

Congratulations Blondie! Simply amazing.
Thank you, @Orbiter. I appreciate it.

Well done, Blondie on the longevity and the milestone!

Wishing you continued healing and prosperity in the new year!
Thank you, @Phineas 808, that means a lot. I hope your new year is going swimmingly!
This is absolutely amazing brother. Outstanding achievement. A trophy of dedication and resilience man. Very inspirational for me. It's things like this that make me not want to quit.
Thank you, @Escapeandnevercomeback. If my "achievement" means anything, it means what we've all done once before we can do again. So much of this is a mental game it's good to remind yourself of that.

Best!

You’re there, buddy. Well done. Just the rest of your life to go…ha ha.

Nothing more to say except I, and others, will always be in your debt whatever happens.
