Porn is not an option

Also, if you find yourself twiddling your thumbs today wasting you life looking at random articles on Wikipedia, get off your ass and go read a book or something
Yes, indeed! I think many people don't realize how long they loiter on the internet with no real purpose. If you think of it like a physical space, it's like wandering around a shopping mall, looking at all the store windows, but never going inside a store, never buying anything, standing in a corner of the food court watching people, then going home after 2-3 hours.

Day 399

@TryingHarder, thank you for your comment yesterday, that loitering analogy really put my random internet browsing into perspective - I had never really thought about it like that before. I never liked loiterers, yet here I am, being one on a digital space. Wikipedia would definitely be my favorite mall! It's like information porn, where you're just one click away from finding that perfect bit of info!

Yesterday I got a lot done, and I will be doing the same today with less internet time.

Thank you all and keep on killing it.

This is a big inspiration. I have not had that long of a period of abstinence in my life. I’ve managed to get a week or two without ejaculating but I was still flooding my brain with dopamine by watching pornography and edging. I admire your journey👍Keep going

Yo @Blondie . 400 round the corner. Nice. Very nice.

In your research have you come across Conquer Series? Look it up - yes, on the internet - it says what a look other sites say, but I liked it. Here’s a good phrase they use….we need to be “gripped by grace” to beat the devil porn. I liked it all. Have a peep.

All best to you this Halloween. I am sitting by my front door dishes sweeties out to little children. I should be locked up.

Day 400

This is one of those times, when the number looks cooler than how I feel at the moment. Maybe next week I'll break down and cry about how great it all is, but today, I have many other things on my mind. I'm still trying to stay off the internet, which is good, but yesterday, I picked up a book I have no time for (history of Russia lol), and spent way too much time reading it. I think I'm trying to distract myself from things. Why do I do this? Anyway, here's to another day of not wasting my time.

@Leon: I see you're new here, welcome to the forum! Thanks for the encouragement brother. Trust me, everything I'm doing, you can do as well. I've been working at this for a long time, much longer than 400 days!

I just did a quick read on your thread and see you're (were) into "edging". This was my "love" as well. Just the sensation and the high it would bring was considerably better than actually getting off. 🤦‍♂️ From my quick read, most likely all those problems will go away if you quit looking at porn and masturbating/edging. How long this will take is individual to each of us, but, nature will find a way to heal itself.

Best to you in quitting this nonsense. Trust me, the journey starts one day at a time.

@GBS: Thanks GBS, I have not heard of that series, but I did a quick look yesterday and it does seem interesting, I will definitely check it out. "Gripped by grace" that is a good phrase. I don't know if that's referring to God's grace or grace we should give to ourselves, but that is imperative for our recoveries. Thanks brother.

I hope you had a great Halloween!

@Blondie thanks for the encouragement...I too have been at this for like 5 years since I first made the connection that porn and edging was the cause of my spiritual death. I figured porn was harmless and mo was natural. Not in the amounts I do it.
I hope so that nature will find a way to heal. 5 days in I’m already feeling hopeful.
Thanks again

It definitely is a journey @Leon. I too thought it was harmless - good or bad, I didn't even think it was morally wrong - but it slowly did take a toll on me throughout the years. As all bad habits/addictions go, you don't see you're sinking until your knee-deep in water and the musicians are playing Nearer My God to Thee.

Best

@Blondie My advice for your procrastination which i also suffered hard in my studies is to plan each day in blocks. Planning and scheduling the day sounds like a prison but its actually the opposite. Its Freedom.

Build in "rewards" after 30 minutes of concentrated productive work. That reward could be going to RN for 1 hour. Being on RN then also wont feel like what someone wise called "The dark playground". The Dark playground is doing stuff to distract yourself which are actually not really fun as you have the bad feeling of having something more important to do.

Lets do this!

Day 401

@swimmer97: that is some great advice, thank you. Those 30 minute rewards could be good for me.

This is so true. You try to have fun, but you can't, because you know you should be doing something else!

Best brother

My brother!!! Hell yeah, you are a goddamn legend. Yeah Day 400 doesn't have to be meaningful to you, you might find on Day 417 you go 'oh shit this is amazing'...doesn't matter as long as you are on THE PATH

So proud of you
