I have over 50,000 bookmarks of porn and that includes instagram twitter reddit and safari combined. I have been stuck since the age of 12. I have a psychiatric problem and social awkwardness that I’m facing everyday. Sometimes I believe that my addiction is incomparable to any man’s addiction on this rock. I am trapped in this decision to decide between life and my addiction.

Welcome home gcity11! I remember feeling that I was alone in the world with my addiction. When I walked into the room of my first Sexaholics Anonymous meeting, I was shocked and relieved to discover that there were others like me on this planet, that I was not alone. As I listened to others telling their stories, I realized that I was finally home. They told me that the first step they took was to put down bottle. I had felt that severing my connection to porn was like loosing my life. But I did it. I discarded my hidden stash. Deleted my accounts. Cleaned my computer. Deleted the bookmarks. I started forming connections with those who had tread this path ahead of me and started making true connections to replace the false connection that porn offered. Welcome home, gcity11, and I look forward to what you have to share!

I also have a psychiatric problem and problems relating to anxiety with socialising, so you're not incomparable to anyone because I have the same situation. In the UK, we have a disability rate of around 1 in 5 for adults. Assuming physical and mental disabilities are equally common, that's 1 in 10 with a psychiatric condition and many of the young men with that condition will have porn problems. This is especially true, because porn problems worsen your mental health and must therefore increase your risk of developing psychiatric conditions.

Regarding the psychiatric condition, I recommend you get into CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). If you're smart enough to understand the psychology, you can do this yourself with just a few books. If not, you'll need to see a professional therapist. I would recommend you buy books on low self-esteem, social anxiety and "The Willpower Instinct", by Kelly McGonigal, if you choose the book method.

Just slowly start deleting the bookmarks. One by one, and as the days go by you'll realise you never needed them in the first place.
