200 Days and Counting

Day 29 - in many ways, this is more difficult than quitting nicotine or alcohol. I can choose to not buy those items at the store, but porn is always a click away. Let alone masturbation. Can’t lock my dick in a box. I’m glad for this forum and my 5,211 successful days of posting on killthecan.org. Without this support and my previous experience, this would be a much taller order. No porn today.

Never had to quit either of those, but am much more sympathetic to those addictions now. I really understand how you can know it's bad for you and still go back, and back, and back.

Not only is porn just a click away, it's just always out there. A sexy ad on the side of a bus or a TV commercial is just that for everyone else, but for us it's basically a porn hit. Well done on removing it from your life, and thanks for sharing it here. You're encouraging everyone.

None of us are going back to porn. None of us. We can’t now we’ve said what we’ve said and we know it’s the worst. Let’s not focus on how easy it is to access it but how we just WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN. I hate it for what it did to me. That’s what I think of when the tiniest urge comes to me. And I think of how I don’t want to see my wife crumpled on the floor crying. That’s the reality. We are real men now. Come on. Let’s kill the beast.

One day at a time. I can’t promise forever, but I can promise I’ll wake up tomorrow ready to post my +1.

I have ultimate respect for everyone here. We’re getting stronger every day.

You've been steady since you joined. Keep it up! I hope it is also helping in feeling better connection with your wife!

Thanks Simon. My wife is doing some pretty draining therapy stuff, 8 hours per day, 6 days a week right now. She’s working through her own issues and I’m holding down the fort and supporting her as best I can. Honestly, I’m feeling a bit lonely, but my relationship with my kids is great! I’m excited for school to start back up.
