Day 90

So my neural pathways are meant to be cleared up for the most part by day 90… but I know that doesn’t mean much. Always be vigilant, keep your guard up, make the necessary sacrifices … these things will help me move forward, not hope in a magic number of days porn free.

Dear @Galatians51 - congratulations on the 90 day mark. I am sure you have done some great neural pathway clearance in your 3 months. As you say though, any complacency would be a school boy error. You have strength now and resilience. Those are going to be invaluable friends in the coming months. Beware the devil as he lurks in the shadows waiting for any moment of weakness.

You inspire. Keep going, pal.

Fantastic job @Galatians51!

Keep pushing forward brother. Use the lessons you've learned to get you to the next hill. And as @GBS mentioned, keep your guard up, for the devil knows when to get you when you least expect it. I don't know anything about that, but that's what I've heard. ;)

Best

Thanks @GBS & @Blondie … i appreciate you guys!

It’s interesting that you mention that. A verse that I often think about is at the end of Jesus being tested by satan in the wilderness:

Luke 4:1-13…13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

“He left him until an opportune time”

There have been so many times that I’ve been strong and resisted my body/brain’s desires but then there are moments of weakness and it feels like I’m overwhelmed with temptation. I think that’s when satan strikes at an “opportune time”. If satan is real (which I believe he is, just as I believe Jesus was raised from the dead) then he has had several thousand years of people watching, and knows exactly when to press us. I’m not at all suggesting that everything is spiritual, i believe in the science of what porn does to our brain, but I do also believe in the spiritual realm that affects us more than most would think.

Anyway, just some of my thoughts on the subject. Thanks again for the support.

Day 92 - 3 months no PMO

Another month down. Months of no porn feel so much longer than they are when you start your reboot. I feel like i can’t remember the last time I looked at porn, like it was years ago, but it’s been only 3 months. I’m happy that I’m 3 months into this, but in perspective of the 20 years I’ve been looking at porn, it is barely a blip on the radar. I’m looking forward to saying that I’m porn free for 20 years.

Stay vigilant.

Galatians51, Congratulations on clearing your neural pathways. This is no easy feat!! You are on surely on the road to recovering physical and spiritual health. However, a word of caution: my own personal experience testifies to the truth that when I finally manage to detach my brain from this wicked habit, if I don't replace that former attachment with a more powerful connection to a higher power, then I end up worse off than before. (See Matthew 12:43-45) But from the nature of your post, I believe you are already doing that.

Day 98 - 14 weeks no pmo

@Blondie thanks man, getting there!

@jberg i totally agree with you, In fact it’s primarily my relationship with God that makes me want to quit…
Matthew 5:27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

I always felt that’s what I was doing when I looked at porn. I know some people don’t think looking at porn is wrong, I completely disagree with that. I believe it’s very wrong. “The proof is in the pudding”…. If it’s not wrong then why would it cause so many problems?

Have a great weekend everyone
