What's the longest flatline you've experienced?

I believe therapy might stop my own production for good? I'm not sure if i'm even able to get the treatment because my total testo is within the reference values, it's normal, low(ish) but normal. Doctor will not give me any testo meds if i'm just fine according to his standards i'm affraid.

But lets see what he says. I'll report here as soon as i know.
Ok, so i went to a doc. He was not worried at all about my situation. He told me i look like a man so i definetly have testo running through my veins. Quick investigation of testies and everything was ok. I told him my porn addiction past and all what i know about dopamine and flatline. He did not have any knowledge about pmo and dopamine and testosterone relationship. I showed him my earlier blood panel results and he ordered a new one later this year that includes different things. Here comes the interresting part of my visit: i showed him a list of all my supplements i have used or am using currently to treat this flatline/withdrawal symptoms and oh boy he saw red :D he told me that basicly i have been doing quite the opposite with those supps. He told me that those supps are most likely causing me my low test coz they tend to turn feminine hormones in a man's body and inhibit my own T production. he told me to quit them lol :D he gave a me a prescription for cialis and said "hope this helps a little.. and let see testo again later this year. Stop using those supplements".

I don't have blood flow issues but i believe if my arrousal is weakish and my wife wants to fool around, cialis might help.

He also said that there is zero reason to start TRT for me.

Can I ask what supplements you took that the doc was displeased with? Currently only taking omega3 and multivitamin for neutritiongap fill, but I’m curious about some bloodflow supps..

well i got to agree other than maybe a couple vitamins i think the best thing to put in the body is just food. one literally has no idea what is going into pills especially the unregulated supplements world.

i am in flatline too. I post mostly on the over 40's board. But I am sober now going on 5 months, hardcore, no masturbation. Have had two wet dreams during this time, both felt real orgasms with solid erections. Morning erections are fairly common.

However tried to have sex with wife last week and after a brief period where i was hard but she was not wet yet and ready , i started developing major self doubt and anxiety and lost my erection. And my wife honestly is still working through her feelings of being told her husband has been secretly PMO for 20+ years of being with her. So it wasn't like i was in a situation where my wife was totally hot for me.

nonetheless still suffer from general decreased libido, decreased desire. Spontaneous day erections rarely happen.

i plan to talk to my psychiatrist and get off bupropion (wellbutrin) which was prescribed earlier this year for depression but didn't work all that great. i've been told bupropion doesn't have the sexual side effects of other anti depressants but more and more I believe in throwing less stuff into one's body whenever possible.

just working on the mind, general health, and staying away from porn/masturbation. having faith in recovery (although it is admittedly at times hard to not freak out about a future of ED).

I’m on the same page with you. I was gonna take Wellbutrin for my depression but I don’t want to add more to my situation. I’m just gonna hold off on that. Dealing with this constant worry of thinking we’re permanently damaged is frustrating. I get good days where I’m motivated to keep pushing and there are bad days when I feel like I won’t get my life back. All I want is to feel normal again. So don’t feel alone man. A lot of us are in the same situation. I’m 32 by the way. My issue started in March this year. I guess time will tell just keep on pushing through.

i hear you on the good days and bad days. i'm about 5 months in no PMO. on the one hand i am proud of what i am doing, on the other hand there are times where i sometimes want to just test to see if everything works even if its with PMO - I don't because that would undo everything i've worked towards. but its the not knowing that is so stressful at times.

About the Wellbutrin. Last year i had had maybe a couple times of Performance anxiety/ED - before Wellbutrin. I was at the time though very stressed, not sleeping, and depressed. My wife really pushed me to see a psychiatrist. The doctor said Wellbutrin had a favorable side effect profile at least with regards to sexual function. But the potential side effects do include potential worsening of libido in small percentage. Who knows what its done to me but I just feel since Wellbutrin i've had a much worse time with my libido.

anyways I just want one less thing to worry about. I hate taking meds unless I have to. I feel that my mental struggles can be addressed w/out meds.

I never needed meds or had this kinda issue now so I asked myself why go on it. I never had mental or physical issues until now. I can definitely link my low libido to PMO. It all makes sense. I had performance anxiety like twice but it went away during this flatline. We won’t know how things will go until we give it time and avoid pmo. I been continuously reading about the flatline. It’s hard to forget because it’s a constant feeling we have to live with. Before all this I was worried about car stuff and researched how to fix stuff. Now I’m tryna feel normal and get my libido back. Time will tell. I would avoid anti depressants because they can make things worse specially SSRIs. My anxiety was bad but I still pushed through it. Just give yourself time man and keep pushing. We’re all in this struggle together.

The list is quite long. Including good basic vitamins also. It goes as follows:
Alphaviril twice a day
Mucuna pruriens twice a day
L-tyrosine once a day
Dhea intimacy (with yohimbine) 25mg in the morning
Basic Dhea 25mg in the evening
Multivitamin once a day
Vitamin d once a day
Magnesium once a day
Ashwaganda
Fenugreek
I have also used two kinds of tribulus terrestris testo boosters earlier this year but not anymore. I believe as a man that DHEA supplementation might actually be the worst supp to take. It propably turns into feminine hormones and inhibits my own production thus making my testo low(ish).

I was so into this that i didn't even understand how much i was consuming supplements. The list is waaaaay too long and full of wrong supps. I will continue with multivitamin, vitamin d and magnesium from now on, perhaps i will add zink into my list later. I have supplementation for gym training as well but i don't think they have anything to do with this libido problem. Glutamine, whey protein and BCAA.

Edit: he didn't highlight any spesific supp from the list.

Everything you listed is in my medicine cabinet. I was so desperate to fix myself and all I kept doing was order supplements on Amazon.

No, definetely not.

PAWS can last between 1 - 4 years.

PAWS = post acute withdrawal symptoms

Other name for PAWS is "protracted withdrawal".

Check out my 30 months PAWS post for more information and education:

30 months PAWS
Did you feel libido rising soon after you quit porn and later descented into low libido land or was it more like steady low libido right from the start? Have you had any good libido days every now and then since quiting pmo?

My story is I did PMO starting at 19 and I ended up with Pied in March. I passed the withdrawal faze. I just have no libido 😩.

- No Libido / Feel asexual
- Genital numbness & shrinkage ( penis feels disconnected from body, lack of blood flow )

Other PAWS symptoms :

- Emotional numbness / anhedonia
- Low motivation
- Brain fog
- Social anxiety
- Weak bladder & urine stream

Dopamine issues indeed...
