What was your flat line like?

Hey all,

So, I am fighting what I believe to be severe PIED, from 20+ years of porn use through most of my years between 10 and 34 years old.

Success! I am on my third re-boot attempt, but this time I am over 70 days of no porn/masturbation other than 1 wet dream. Curious to get other's take on my current experience:

So... I do get horny / triggered from far less now (just pictures of clothed girls). I also find myself far more interested in looking at girls in-person and feeling some sort of reaction.

BUT...

I do not get erections, at all. I have been like that most my life--I need to have physical touch on my penis to gain an erection, unless I am looking at porn deep into some sort of fetish.

Normal? Concern? Stay the course? If I ignore girls and don't think about this at all, I won't really be horny--am I still in a flat line?

Really looking for other guys' experience when having severe PIED, and how their flat line was, and what there recovery looked like as far as when erections began to come back easily.

I have read success stories on "yourbrainonporn" and while they sound encouraging, I am looking for some more details on other people's experience who was similar to mine.

I will leave this post at this.

Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Totally normal. Never in my youth did I get an erection just by seeing a woman. Unless you touch a woman. The most normal thing in the world. If you have a libido and you have an interest in sexuality, that means it's not in a flat line. Flat line means lack of interest in everything that has to do with sex. Generally a flatline lasts only a few weeks. People who say they are in a flat line beyond 3 months is because they have other types of problems. A flat line, however long it may be, only lasts a few weeks. A piece of advice: do not put nonsense in your head, what you say is happening to you is completely normal. I assure because I did not grow up watching porn or pmo during my formative years. I am currently 40 years. old.

I think it will look a bit different for every guy, and depends on a number of things. Age, how long the porn addiction lasted, lifestyle, imagination, etc. I'm 53 and now 6+ months into my reboot. When I MO, my erections aren't great. I often think of favourite porn girls, which I know I shouldn't, so that mental conflict tends to compromise my boner. However, I regularly wake up with a total hardon, so I know physically I'm fine. So I'm not flatlining, just aware that MO doesn't thrill me the way it used to, and that's probably a good thing.

I appreciate you sharing your experience here, it is a unique insight that is appreciated.

I am curious, did you have erections every morning? Honestly that seems to be something I very rarely have. I feel like I am still not at the point where if I go try to have sex, that I will achieve an erection.

But I don't know--I am purposely avoiding it trying to let my body reset. So I am still searching for "when am I reset." I have had severe issues with real sex my entire life, so I do not want to jump the gun. I still crave porn but I avoid it and I at least try to actively not think about it.

Thanks again

Hey, thanks for sharing.

See, I do not wake up with a boner often at all. Did you have this issue ever, when addicted, rebooting, or after rebooting?

In the past I have avoided porn, and had semi-successful sex. Like you, I would often think about porn in order to get a better erection. Often this was because I simply thought the sex was boring compared to the stuff I watched.

For me, I want me reboot to rewire my brain so I no longer need that. So I can freely have an erection for normal sex.

Thanks again for your help.
