Raise the anchor to regain happiness

Hi!

Im confusing and sad because last night I had a problem. When I went to sleep I instantly had the idea to open a webpage of cam that show random boys jerking off. I think you know what Im talking about. I was naked on cam and boys loved to see me erected. I did not cum and I shut off the page after an our. I went to sleep and Im here telling you that.

From one point of view Im happy because:
- I did not cum and could stop.
- I did not enter (neither after nor before) to P websites with videos and I did not open a lot of windows, blablabla.
- Im sharing this situation with you and I did not hide that.

On the other hand Im sad because:
- I feel as if I relapsed.
- this kind of episodes are really shameful for me and humiliating. I have to think about another thing.

Do you think that, based on what I told you, I have to restart my counter?! I think that I have to go forward and provide importance to the fact that I stoped and did not cum...

Thanks and please, help me!,

Nacho

Hi @Nacho C
Thank you for sharing and I hope you are feeling better now.

"based on what I told you, I have to restart my counter? "
Reboot is unique and personal to everyone. You have to decide for yourself what is acceptable, what is to be counted, and what matters.

However, only 2 things are absolute:
1. Addiction forms after repetition of habit. Non-addiction happens after repetition of distance, abstinence and replacement.

2. The recovery process is nonlinear and takes time. There will be highs and lows, smooth and bumps.

So what happened yesterday, you can consider what lessons you have learnt and use them to help you move forward.

Most of us will experience relapse along the way. The important thing isn't the relapse but the lessons learnt and the greater gaps between relapses, until there is no more relapse.

Hi @Nacho C - as @TakeActionNow says, all the worries about porn are your brain messing with you. Embrace it. It’s less worrying when you know where it’s coming from. Giving in is letting your brain take over. The sooner you square up to this horrible fact the sooner it becomes less horrible, then it’s manageable, then it’s a straight fight between you and that nasty bit of you that wants you to give in.

I think you’re doing great. This is the hard bit. It gets easier. You are a hero. Remember that. Those of us giving up are pioneers.

I agree 100% @GBS! Thanks you very much. Merry christmas and let go on accompany each other (this is one of the most important elements I have to maintain my fight...)
