Hello everyone, my name is Emil.I'm 20 years old and I have experienced the same issues with the porn addiction as you.I have started masturbating when I was around 10 years old.I started using porn around 5 years later, occasionaly 2 or 3 times a week for around 2 years.Howeever I developed an addiction problem shortly after that. For a period of about 10 months i masturbated 4-5 times dayly and kept spending around 3 hours a day looking at porn videos, pictures, stories and all sorts of pornographix material. At around the 7-8 month of my addiction I notice that it was getting harder and harder to get aroused and maintain erection.I escalated to all sorts of extreme porn genres so that I could get the same dopamine rush and arousal. At around the 10nth month it was getting almost impossible to get aroused and maintain erection and shortly after that i develepod the severe problems of the porn addiction.I couldnt get arouswed from absolutely anything. No morning wood, no nothing. Then I said to myself i need to take a break from that and everything return go to normal.Four months passed without anything.Around the 5th month i got my first wet dream ever. The thing about it ,which disturbed me , was that at the moment I was dreaming of gay stuff, which got me into panic. One month passed without anything. And then after six months of absolutely no porn ,masturbation, fantasy and orgasm I noticed for the first time an improvement.I could get hard and feel slight arousal just by thinking about sexual fantasies with women. That went for around a week , in which i fantasied and about the same thing around 30 - 40 times. And then...nothing.I returned to my first state of a fried up dopamine system. Then I entered the second stage of my first attempt to recover. This stage lasted around 8 months more.During this time however i fantasied, looked at porn videos and clips almost dayly, without masturbation and orgasm. From time to time I notice some slight improvements and then again the same thing- the flatline, which we all have experienced.Sometimes occasionaly i would wake up at night feeling a little bit horny and aroused.Around the 10 month this same thing happened and I even woke up in the middle of the night feeling normal libido.I started then my visits to the doctors.I went to an andrologist-urologist who examined me and told me my reproductive system is in a very good concdition and said the problem is in my head.I checked up my hormones - everything was normal.I tried everything on the internet, medical sites and forums , I even bought herbal medications, all without any effects. Then after 14 months of abstaining from masturbation I started aporn video and started masturbating, adn then i get slightly aroused. The same thing happened every time i started masturbating to porn for around 3 weeks and then I entered my previous state of a fried up brain again.
I looked on the internet for some info and then I found forum topics of a psychologist who answered to young men with the same problem. He posted in the forums the presantation the demise of guys by Gary Wilson. And then i came across the site yourbrainonporn.com.I checked the videos, the reports and everything summed up.Everything i ghad experienced was in his videos and presentations.I went to the same psychologist, who is also an acquaintance of Garry Wilson's wife, and we talked about the change in the brain , which I experienced. He encourared me start the recovery process again. However my porn addiction got the better of me.That happened for almost 14 months.I always said to myelsf I'll better start a new at the begging of the week or the semester ,my birthday ...Then i finally realized that I looked like a pathetic addict. This time I said to myself I'll recover for good once and for all even that takes 10 months or several years without masturbation, orgasm and porn.
I really appreciate what Gabe Deem and Garry Wilson do bring the problem of the Porn addiction to the public and hoped I could get some info and tips from young men like me who needed much longer to recover and experienced the same thing which happened to me.
P.S:Excuse for my English skills
