I saw mr. Gary wilson's video today, in the video was telling that just by giving up porn and masturbation for 9 months the problem of pied will be solved. He did not told to quit fb or internet, so why people say that you should quit fb and internet. My another question is when i watch tv sometimes i get hard by looking a woman (wearing decent cloths). So is it a goot sign or is it affecting me in a bad way. Plz reply....

Correction: Nowhere in the video did I say that giving up porn and masturbation for 9 months would cure PIED. Some guys need 3 weeks other 2 years. However, I said that young guys often need longer. On the subject of masturbation, I said a reboot is a one man experiment. You have to decide depending on the state of your ED.

Skimming through sexy Facebook pictures can be used as a substitute for porn. Avoid all porn substitutes. However, this doesn't mean you can't use Facebook. As for getting an erection while watching TV, consider your self lucky, and don't worry about it. It's the pursuit of artificial sexual stimulation via screens that is the problem.

Advice: Don't over think a reboot.

Unfortunately now we all know how porn affects our brain, but this is what Facebook does to it: http://themindunleashed.org/2014/05/heres-facebook-brain-kind-shocking.html
At first it is bit off topic, but if you think about it more deeply you'll see how changes caused by social media can affect your recovery.

I encourage all of you to take a look, you want to know this. I'll get more into this so expect new thread soon about connection between social media and recovery.

Good to have you here, cheers.

hey kucbrick, thanks for the reply. When i asked can i use fb that doesn't mean that i will be on fb all day, it is just to connect to friends who are not in the same city. I can say that i am not addicted to fb.

And can you plz define hard mode.

Well yeah, using Facebook for talking to others that are not around you is not the problem. Just make sure you're not wasting your time srcolling down the news feed, etc. And we all know that lot girls post pictures that could easily trigger us to fap. XD You want to isolate yourself from all triggers to artificial sex stimuli.

When we use the term 'hard mode' that means one joins the reboot process without watching porn, masturbation and any kind of orgasm, meaning: no sex, blowjobs, handjobs etc. You basically restrain yourself from anything sexual and give your brain time to rest so it can weaken and collapse pathways that are currently wired and rebuild new ones. (wired to real girls, touch, etc).
