Then I guess the web filters are not a very good method for you, are they? If you are decided to go around them in the beginning you do not have to install them at all. You talk about them as if they are the one thing that can save you from this. This is not about the web filters at all. This is about you stopping PMO by your own will. You were abstaining for 9 month - how did you manage to do it - was it solely due to web filtering. I don?t think so. Try to read your old journal posts or advices to others and you will find what truly stopped you from doing it. It should not be about religion either. It is only about you, doing something for yourself.

You asked for help, so I would like to share a concept that has been helpful for me.

Like you, I am a computer geek. And of course you are right that for guys who are good with computers, a filter cannot prevent us from accessing porn. We will always be able to bypass it after some amount of time.

But, despite being able to disable it easily, I still use a filter myself.

Why?

Although it can be bypassed with some effort, the filter still slows me down. It makes the process of relapsing take longer, and that's very helpful because the intense kind of porn cravings that interfere with our willpower appear randomly and peak quickly. Often, one or two minutes of delay in getting to porn is all I need to get my willpower back, get myself under control, and prevent a relapse.

Actually, computer-savvy users have a big advantage when it comes to filters: they can actually set them up properly. Too often I hear guys say things like "filters don't work" when what they really mean is that "out of the box without any effort at customization on my part, the filter did not block the sites and things I needed it to." As a computer expert, you will have a better shot at getting a filter configured properly so that it blocks the sites it needs to and does not block the sites it shouldn't.

It means that I shouuld install it again right , infact I have to fix K9 its still working. I use Hotspot shield by the way to break mostly, If you know any method to stop installing it !!!
