Ok so it's been about 2 weeks since i have stopped mastubeation and porn. I may see the odd baikini pic on fb at most... anyways... i'm finding this quite easy? Like i don't seem to have much of an urge to watch porn or masturbate... like am i in the flatline stage? I still get morning erections. Thing is i see posts of people struggling after a few days? I have watched porn + masturbated roa bout 5 years maybe a bit less. Recently i have watched more extreme porn in the last year.

If you get morning wood chances are you're fine buddy. I get morning wood but it's hardly impressive and not nearly solid enough.

You are maybe a bit like me then. First 3-4 days I had urges to masturbate. After that just once in a while maybe ever 10 days I get the urge to masturbate, but I don't even see it as an option so it's easy to resist.

Also porn has been gone from my life for about a year. I don't feel any need to watch it what so ever.

Honestly, it is different for everyone. When I got committed to no PMO, I really found it pretty simple for the most part. I had some urges...but I don't think my struggles were like anyone elses.

Keep it going man! If you're feeling great without porn, why go back?

Yeah the first few days i was tempted a bit... but now it's like i don't even feel the need too... my morning erection today was harder then before and lasted long, even a bit after i went to the toilet. Am i going through the flatline stage btw?

Just to add i'm pretty sure i used the death grip. I have a dimple on my penis of which is where the palm of my finger would usually press. It's not very noticeable though... i think thats one of the reasons why i can't masturbate easily due to me needing to use alot of force. Thing is i used to be able to get semi erections when i checked out girls when sitting down... i no longer really get that since i decided to masturbate twice in one day...

I think it really depends on WHY you used porn as to how a reboot will go.  Some people use it to manage depression and anxiety so I would imagine it would affect them more when they give it up.

Well i have had alot of anxiety and a bit of depression because of certain surgery i will need. I have known about this for about a year, haven't told my parents etc. I think it's my motivation of wanting to fix my penis because i have other things i need to fix... i think it's the flatline stage they are described on the website page, has something to do with testosterone going down when you stop or something.

Yes, it probably is a habitual process and many just watch porn because they can. Boredom is a strong link to curiosity and this leads to a craving for the new. It is the same for me. When I am doing something else I do not care about porn. But when I have nothing to do and happen to be in front of a PC I just think "why not have a quick wank?". This later started to become a habit and now it is very difficult for me to ?bstain from it - making it an addiction. Perhaps you never really "needed" porn but just did it because you could. For me it is the same with smoking. I always tried it at parties, wasn't to bad, but never could impress me into starting. Its just not my thing.

Yeah i only rarely felt the real need to masturbate... i just did it because i was bored and i knew when i started i would want to.

I am over 190 days no P and no M, and i too find it strange how easy it has been to stay away and not have the urge to go back there.  Honestly, I have dealt with flashes and quick images over the past 6 months, but no urges.  What all that made me into, the lying and the betrayal of my wife, coming to the realization and the acceptance of what i had become  - that with the desire to be a better man and husband - has made that portion easy.

I still struggle with the PIED even after all this time, have been rebooting/rewiring with my wife.

It takes time.

How long have you masturbated/porn etc for? Also do you get morning wood that lasts long and is decently hard?

For some guys it is really easy to stay away from porn. That is not unusual. When I learned about YBOP and porn addiction, I was also expecting to behave like an addict, relapsing all the time, getting crazy urges and withdrawal symptoms.

Now I stayed away from porn for nine months and it was easy. I had a flatline in the beginning and that was it. After that, I was just left with working on getting my erections to come back. But I quit porn from one day to the next without looking back (so far).

Though what was needed was a traumatic experience (P.I.ED with my new gf) and then learning the reason (porn) and the cure (reboot). A real Eureka! moment in my life and I guess it was enough to be prepared to quit porn for life. It is so strong, that I am very much at ease with living without porn. It doesn't have any kind of "forbidden fruit" appeal, more like I avoid it like something that could give me a disease.

Thanks for the big reply! How long did the flatline stage last and also once it's over will the urge to masturbate/ get horny from women come on?
