I am a 16 year old girl who is addicted  to internet porn. I am so happy to learn that I am not the only one going through this.
I have tried to quit a couples times before, but it seems like every time I take one step forward I end up 3 steps back. Watching porn isn't fun for me anymore. Right after i watch it, I ball my eyes out but I can't help the urge. I hope this site will help me stop this addiction once and for all. (And if anyone has any advice, please feel free to share it.)

You are definitely not alone. So glad that you found a place where you can share and ask everything you need to and know that we can relate and will do the best we can to help you along recovery road.

My advice for the reboot can be found here - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I0dDLWGMhUo

Hope it helps you take 3 steps forward and keeps from taking a step back :)

Welcome to the Nation. I hope the best for you and am glad you are stopping this at such a young age. Porn can eventually lead you to a place where pleasure is extremely difficult to experience.

So just understand that giving up Porn is not about missing out on pleasure, but ultimately about living life to the full and experiencing more.

Yesterday I found out that my uncle passed away. I managed to suppress the urge but its getting worse. I can not seem to get the pornographic image out of my head. I am so tempted to watch porn because I keep thinking it might ease the pain and make me feel better but deep down I know it will only make me more depressed.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, you're right you will just feel worse afterwards, a lot worse. Overcoming moments like these are big challenges but if you make it through this rough period it will give you a lot of momentum.

Do you have any hobbies or play sport? I know it's not very common for young women our age to (perhaps it's just where I live). I believe it's an important step for recovery. Especially a martial art or something. Best of luck!

THE STORY OF HOW I STARTED WATCHING PORN

So I had just turned 12 when i got my first laptop. I remember I was so happy because I didn't have to use my mom's laptop to watch sex scenes from movies on YouTube. 4 months in, my ex- bestfriend came over for a sleep over. She showed me this site her brother used to watch free porn.  At that age, I watched porn about once a month. This went on for about two years. When I was 14, I started masturbating and watching porn at least twice a month.

when i got to high school, i couldn't go a week without masturbating or watching porn. I figured out that masturbating helped me clear my mind. Sophomore year, my addiction rapidly escalated. I masturbated before studying. I masturbated in the morning If i had a quiz or a test or a game. I masturbated when i was sad or depressed. i masturbated before i went to bed because i helped me fall asleep. Masturbating and porn basically became a routine; they became something i couldn't live without.

When i realized how bad my addiction was, i decided to stop. This attempt was not at all successful but i kept trying. It seemed like every time i took one step forward, i found myself three steps back. so i decided to find people who were going through the same thing; and here i am.

I let my self down today.  :'( I gave in to the urge after 6 days. :( I guess  have to restart my counter again. This is actually harder than i thought it would be but I think I am making progress because I only watched one video and I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to. I hope that was the last time i will ever watch porn and masturbate.

Oh, this is sad. But I understand you. It's very hard, I'm fighting for a long time, I had multiples collapses, but now I just think in all this addiction caused to me, cause and will cause, now I'm more strong than never. A tip for you is every time that you think seriously in do it, read in forums the harm that this can cause to you, actually I'm using this forum and Fapstronauts and have been a great help to me in this hard time

Be strong  ;)

I (and mostly everybody here) knows how you feel. I tried/wanted to quit lorn for so long but kept coming back to it for the same reasons that you have and that you put in your pole. The key to accomplishing any task is motivation. Why do you want to quit porn? Make a list and right it down. Watch Gabe's videos and fight like you really want it. Find a hobby and keep your time filled. The other good advice I have used is to do breathing excercises when I start to think about porn or see a trigger. Also, another couple ideas are to keep the volume out loud on all your devices and only use the Internet when other people are home unless you absolutely have to.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you can revolt successfully

it's been 3 days since i relapsed. i have had urges but i managed to suppress them. i noticed that the longer i go without watching porn, the urges get more frequent and harder to suppress. yesterday, i masturbated but i didn't think i needed to reset my counter because my goal for now is to stop my porn addiction. i'm taking one step at a time.

It has been 10 days since i reset my counter. i feel pretty good and proud of myself. I also don't feel guilty like i used to before. I have gotten a couple of urges to watch porn, but i have managed to distract myself so far. what helps is i kept busy. Another thing that helps is making a list of why i want to stop my addiction.

Might also help if you go out more and more... Humans are social creatures after all. Meet new people, engage in social activities... Just go out and have fun... ignore the social anxiety, ignore what others think about you, just get out there, have fun and enjoy yourself and your life!!

Take care and stay strong!

Its been 16 days since i have looked at porn and 6 days since i masturbated. this shit is getting harder by day. the last time i masturbated, i didn't feel guilty but after i craved porn even more. so, i was wondering if i should i stop masturbating or should i focus on only stopping my addiction of watching porn?

The best way to do it is, go hard mode! Thereby, No porn, No mastubration and no orgasm (unless it's with a real person). Because masturbation or porn, they are both buttons we push to get that dopamine high(like William here says).

So Masturbating will not do any good as it will only make u crave more and end up watching porn again. (17 year old guy with experience)

All the best!
