Started so young, recovery possible?

I began masturbation probably around the age of 10-11, obviously before puberty. The worst part is that it was prone masturbation, which is extremely harmful.

Now as an adult, I've gone months without PMO and I see lots of recovery stories, but I'm still struggling so much with relapses and a lack of progress. My theory is that it's because I started at such a young age while my brain was still developing. I did serious damage to my brain and sexual development, so my brain wiring never developed normally.

I feel hopeless.

I thought of myself as a hopeless case. Started watching porn over half my life ago, noticed first signs of PIED at 17 and didn't properly lose my virginity before this year. I'm 32 and started this process late summer this year. Addiction is tough as fuck getting rid of, but set goals and stick with it, no exceptions. Stay strong.

Absolutely there is hope. You will see. Many people start meditating and or therapy with a professional. This could help you! Your brains are able to change our whole lives. They are designed to adapt, to keep learning. It gets harder with age, but never impossible!

Stay strong!
