Lately I've had a problem getting and keeping an erection when i am with my girl. i get partially erect, but it is not enough to allow me to penetrate her. I believe this is liked to the past 6 years of porn and masturbation. Does anyone have any helpful tips/ things to do that helped them reboot?

Best thing to do is realize/find out what your triggers are.. Why do you log into the P in the first place?  I found I was just bored, had nothing to do, so I figured I might as well PMO.  I also wrote a sign on my computer screen saying "Insert name, NO!" haha it's corny but it worked.

Does your girlfriend know this is an issue?  Let her know, if she really cares about you she'll definitely help you.

The most important thing is finding a way to leave porn behind for good. This will put you on the fast track for successful rebooting! Quitting porn is a must.

Other then that, it's totally up to you how you reboot. Most people find that an initial period of complete abstinence from all orgasms is highly beneficial for recovery (most people do ~60-90 days). Then, after that, some individuals will try introducing organs with a partner or masturbation (no porn) and see how it effects them. Remember that for the last 6 years in your life you linked pornography and orgasms together; this indicates that it's probably very important to give your brain a rest from orgasms and break this connection. Some people find that even after 60-90 days of orgasm abstinence they needed some more periods of rest from them! This was my experience. Other people, after resting initially from orgasms, found that the more they had orgasms with their partner, the more they felt sexually rewired. Here is a really great example of it (and one of my favorite rebooting success stories of all time): http://www.yourbrainrebalanced.com/index.php?topic=11691.0

Moral of the story is (and the best advice you can get) to feel out the rebooting process for yourself. I think I most people are in agreement that an initial period of total abstinence from orgasms is needed but after that....don't be afraid to try things (as long as you aren't looking at ANY artificial sexual stimuli) and see what works best for your recovery.

Hope this helps!

Definitely communicate with your girlfriend about it. It's something that you need to work with together rather than you just making excuses to her. I find if she's understanding, you can tackle the problem week by week together.

Good luck with the reboot!
