Hey man, from my experience its a difficult chain that will keep on coming round and getting you. I did a short reboot about a year ago, and I wasn't fixed as such but I was getting erections and having sex. The problem is that once you've finally managed to stop watching porn and stop masturbating if necessary, you then have to refrain from doing it at all. And it got me. I started watching porn again and my ED got just as worse, and a couple of months ago I realised I had got back to the same place I started at. Rewiring with a sexual partner is really useful. Aside from the fact it's really important for rebooting, it stops, at least for me, stops the desire to masturbate as you have something to work to within the near future. I always think 'no im not going to masturbate because I'm seeing my girlfriend on the weekend and I want to be able to get hard'. So yes, it is normal for you to want to find it 'okay' to masturbate again, but you are only losing all your progress. As long as you have the desire to masturbate you are not fixed. In terms of recognising recovery, there are a few things that I have noticed. One thing, is the ability to not worry about your performance when you go to have sex. If you are confident enough to think you have recovered, then you must have achieved something. Another thing is actually getting horny and not thinking about porn, but wanting to go and actually engage with a partner, not your computer screen. All the best with your recovery.
