I have just given in to my cravings, 25 days in, BOOM! PMO'd, I don't feel like the normal symptoms that most people in the success stories describe after a relapse, but I do feel a sense of disappointment and emptiness that I did not reach my anticipated goal.

What are ideal methods of dealing with a relapse and how can I make sure that I do not repeat another scenario like this? I know this sounds repetitive from my previous posts but I just need to get through this.

Cheers once again.

Does it help you that the best way to deal with a relapse is to simply not care and just continue with the reboot?

As long as you don't binge or relapse every second day, one relapse is nothing. Just try to last longer next time, if you keep check on your streaks. This is a marathon, not a sprint. So if there is a little bump, you just stand up and keep moving.

Well said Mart71, I like the analogy of the Marathon versus the sprint.

To Dimo77 I just want to say, 25 days were good. Glad to see that your counter have been reset. This is positive! It shows your commitment to beat this thing!
What I have found is that it helps a lot to not think to much over and about PMO. By doing it, you actually subconsciously focus on it and then it becomes a stumbling block. Keep your mind occupied with other better things. By doing this you will find that it will actually be much better, and that the temptations will not be so severe. The other thing is to not be alone. Try to be with other people most of your time and when you can not be with others keep yourself busy! Exercising, start a new hobby, you name it just stay busy.

Thank you both Mart71 and PMOVictory! This has really helped a lot in trying not to overthink and/or worry about my relapse.

There is a quote that really hit me:  I repeat it over and over in my head everyday.

"The reason why people fail is because they are willing to trade what they want most for what they want now"

Stay commited, I have also relapsed after 40 days before, It happens, but not this time. Just keep going, keep reading about the negative effects of porn, keep going on the forums, read a lot of success stories, fill your mind with inspirational quotes, and just know that porn will never satisfy you. Good luck bro!

In case of a relapse, you must absolutely identify what triggered it and develop a strategy for the next time you'll be confronted to the same case. It's vital, otherwise you might make the same mistakes over and over.

When you've done that, just go on. Don't blame yourself too hard and remember that you've come from PMOing like daily to once in 25 days. That's 25 days saying no to porn, 25 days training your brain to do the right thing. You're recovering, be compassionate with yourself and be proud of what you already achieved !
