Exactly. And this is also why the idea of PAWS is not to be taken seriously when it comes to kicking porn addiction. The truth is, I am one of those who do not believe in PAWS, at least in the case of behavioral addictions.
If you guys dig deep, the YBOP site never developed the PAWS idea, at least from a medical or scientific standpoint. If you take a good look at what is in YBOP about PAWS, it does not go beyond very little and very short, in fact, it only cites a few pieces of evidence that were taken from forums.
What I want to imply is that irreversible damage is highly unlikely to exist, just as PAWS is highly unlikely to exist. One of the most absurd things I have come across on these forums is people comparing porn addiction to drug addiction. They are very different. And it is also very absurd in my opinion, to talk about PAWS when it comes to porn addiction. PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms) manifest in substance addictions, but are not real in porn addiction recovery.
In fact, the founder of this forum-Gabe Deem-started out as a porn addict very early in his life (at age 12). However, he never during the recovery process spoke of having experienced PAWS.
In my opinion, men who experience long flat lines may have the following problems:
1. Hormonal problems.
2. Pre-existing issues that have little to do with your past porn addiction habits.
3. An incorrect idea of how sexual desire really works. They may also be experiencing an incorrect idea of the state of mind.
4. Anxiety to approach sex with another person.
5. Low libido normally. """yes""" --- although it sounds inconsistent, the truth is that there are people who have low libido and that is normal. Once they kick their addiction to pornography, these men begin to discover what the level of their sexual desire (libido) really is.
