Many guys who are clean for years identify as recovered porn addicts. A while back i asked my dad about a neighbour of ours who has nearly 20 years sobriety in AA. I naively asked "why does he still attend meetings if he doesn't experience physical craving for alcohol anymore ". My dad was right in saying it's structure, helped him so he's helping others. Norman Doidge in his book "The brain that changes itself " described it best i thought. A recovering addict with years sobriety he says is absolutely correct to identify himself as "recovering" when you look at it from a brain plasticity viewpoint. Addiction changes plasticity, also changes ate reversed too with abstinence but i guess we do fire things up if we do look at porn. Again though, I'm comfortable with this.. Education is good.
