Mild insomnia ?

I'm 43, was addicted to porn for about 15 years.  I'm 21 days squeaky clean right now.

Did you guys (or gals?) sleep really poorly in the few weeks after quitting?  I woke up at 2:30 this morning and had really poor, restless, shallow sleep until I had to wake up.

I guess I'm looking to hear some encouraging stories or experiences like "yeah the same thing happened to me, got better after a month or so"  I'm going a bit nuts here without my beauty rest.

Thanks very much,

I experienced sleep issues both while addicted and in withdrawal. But it is usually in periods. Most people seem to experience symptoms from withdrawal periodically so if it's a new thing it will probably not last that long. It might return in intervals later and throughout the process though. But it obviously also depends on how bad your addiction is, other symptoms etc.

Meditate for 1/2 hour before for going to bed. It's a small commitment.  You'll sleep like a baby.

Meditation also breaks down the accumulation of Delta-FOS-B  and increases gray matter in the brain

Absolutely yes, bro!

Had it for about 3 months (on and off, of course). It fades away, don't worry.

And you are a lucky guy, because it seems you did not use HSIP in your childhood and adolescence meaning you can recover really NICELY! Keeping fingers crossed for you!

i suffered from severe insomnia at one point. just do what ever you need to do to get some sleep because if not your body will really suffer! trust me i know (just check out my early journals).

also if your keeping this reboot private i understand but telling someone can help those wondering thoughts that often keep us up at night.

good luck
