The Most Important Part of the Movie Don Jon... That Nobody Talks About!

I've read several articles and hundreds of posts about Don Jon, yet none of them even mention the most important part of the movie... WHY HE GAVE UP PORN!

It wasn't because he had guilt and shame... If you watch the movie he clearly could care less. It wasn't because he "fell in love".. it had nothing to do with him finally realizing real sex is better than masturbating with your pants around your ankles to a bunch of pixels that will never love you back.... No.

None of those were the reason Don Jon stopped watching porn.

The real reason...

He tried masturbating without porn and couldn't....

Jon said " I wasn't gunna give it up, but I did that thing you asked me to do, you know... see if I could [masturbate] without porn... and... I couldn't. I've been trying for like a week and can't. It's kinda fucked up"

He realized he had conditioned himself to the point of being dependent on porn. Something no man should be dependent on. He realized he was physiologically screwing himself up. He was very close (if he was a real person) to developing full blown porn induced ED.

Just thought I'd point that out to everyone who didn't catch it, or has a future conversation about it with someone. It would be a great way to bring up how porn is causing problems to raise awareness without things getting awkward.

From the trailer alone, I'd say yes. It does. Which is a shame since I want to watch it but I think the triggers are too many for me to handle at this point in my reboot

I too, watched the railer and you are right. Will watch it after my rebooot.

I semi saw it for the first time today,  it was on in the background at a friends house.

Definitely not safe for rebooters, few porn scenes and a ton of sexual interaction

I watched this movies for the first time last week. Very interesting movie. Lots of triggers but I knew what to expect before I pressed play!
