The Power of Habit

A book was recommended to me called "The Power of Habit."  This book was written by Charles Duhigg
and can help someone overcome any habit that a person would want by following a simple three-part plan.

Here is an example:

CUE                                                  ROUTINE                                                REWARD
Which could be when you are tired        Which is going to get a Mountain Dew      The feeling.

Now this can be used to break the habit of drinking caffeinated soda pop which is not good for a person,
especially if they do it several times per day.

It also could be used to avoid the Porn Habit, Eating Nachos, or any other bad habit.

YES, YOU CAN CHANGE
Research shows that even the most ingrained habits or traits can be modified or improved upon.
But you have to believe you can change.  That same study revealed that religious faith helped
Alcoholics recover more often than anything else.  However if you are not religious, just having faith
that you can overcome will work as well.  ::)

I am on Day 6 and see no reason why developing better habits will not help me avoid PMO.
One of the keys has to be believing that I can do this.  I have to believe that the benefits far outweigh
the fleeting moment of satisfaction...which indeed gives no satisfaction.

Do we really get total satisfaction in this life?  I do not think so.  We must keep moving forward even after victories.

I wonder if some on here think that I have to post negatives and start asking for help.  Maybe I do.
But I happen to think that if we make something hard it becomes hard.  Make something easy, it becomes easy.

I did not have internet porn until 1997 or so.  Gradually I began hitting it hard in 2016 or so.  I still know I have
to reboot but I think I can do so.

I will also have the power of reading your testimonies.  I will read of your struggles and victories.
I will learn how to beat this thing which lies within every man...Lust of the flesh.

:-[ ;) :-X :'( ;D ;D ;D

What does "the flatline," mean?  Remember I am a 40+ virgin.  You can still have problems with PMO and I certainly did.
I like to talk in the positive wanna be.

   :) :) :) :)

Flatlining is when you feel no lust for the P, and also for women in general.
There's more to it than that but it's late.

Day 11 for me.

Nine very short posts for me today.  My All-Time Best PMO Free Streak on Reboot Nation is 14.
This is Day ONE in the effort to out distance the Beast and just get better and defeat myself.

These were good words.  We all have the power within to change.
