I go to 12-step, mostly because I just want something to fill my time with. Now I've had a person offer to be my sponsor. The only problem (if it is a problem) is that he is not an addict and has never struggled with addiction. Should I still have him as my sponsor or is that just not a good idea? I feel like someone who's never known the fight can't be of much help. Am I wrong in this? I don't know anyone I can ask, so please give me your two cents if you have the time.
