Recovery estimate time

Hey guys,

I know everybody is different, but how deep would the pathways be for a man who started PMO(masturbating to porn) at 24 years old, but also didn't have a lot of human sexual experience(always viewed porn since a teen but incorporated masturbation to it until 24), and also porn tastes escalated up to Fendom/verbal humilation porn. This would describe me in a nutshell. I'm 30 now, and trying to seriously commit to quitting after these last 5-6 years. Anyway out there with a blueprint or similar to mine who can share their experiences. I'm closing in on a month on November 20.

By sheer coincidence, I just replied to a very similar question in another thread, maybe check that out as well.

I'm not going to give you definite time lines because they'd just be sloppy guesses, but here's a rough guess on how it is with you.

Pros: The brain keeps developing until age 25, so you got into porn when your brain was pretty much fully developed, and even if you didn't have many sexual experiences, you still had post-pubescent time before porn to get a sense of who you are, what you're attracted to, and so forth to refer back to.  Imagine jumping into porn before you even noticed that girls had breasts, and your sexual tastes are being molded then.  That's the bullet you dodged.

Cons: PMO is definitely the bigger enemy, though the earlier porn usage may still have been compulsive and escalating.  Also, if you started PMO at about 2013ish, it means you started when connection speeds were good enough for streaming video, and enough devices were readily available (smart phones, tablets, notebooks, etc.) that it was portable.  In other words, you might have hit the ground running, and your 6 +/- years of porn use may have been very intense.  Your escalation to femdom/humiliation porn seems indicative of that, and there may be some psychological components that got dragged in.

My guess is that you'll have to work as hard as anyone else to quit and withdrawals won't seem any lighter, but once you quit you'll see results and be able to put it behind you more easily than your peers.  So, while the "detox" may be a bit easier, you have to get to that part, first.  Just my own guess, though.

Yeah i started in the 2014 so right in the thick of things unfortunately. Started out with pictures and escalated to videos. Appreciate your feedback and i'll check out that other thread definitely.
