Hi everyone

Just signed up so not sure if I should of posted this somewhere else? I?ll manage to work my way round this site in the weeks and months to come!

Basically writing this because I wanted to know if the symptoms that I have are the same as other people on here! Obviously ED, Low libido seem to be the main ones but I feel like I have masturbated myself into a flatline? If that makes sense? Like porn now does nothing for me, and even to touch my penis doesnt feel pleasurable! If I watch porn I can get an erection but it?s a struggle and often not fully hard! But the main thing is I just don?t seem to have any interest in porn or sex in general where as before I always had a really high sex drive! So is it possible you can wank yourself into a flatline? And has anybody else experienced this?

Short answer...hell yeah.

I'm 45. I'd say that for the last decade, probably longer, I've been living under the cloud of having masturbated myself into a flatline.

"If I watch porn I can get an erection but it?s a struggle and often not fully hard"

I got to the point where I wasn't getting an erection from porn alone. I needed lubrication, I needed to manually...you know. Edging for hours with porn felt good, the O still felt good, but the "high" didn't last long. Sex? I could manage a "functional" erection...but any type of riding, by her, was not happening.

I'm currently 61 of 65 days porn free (I slacked for a second, but I'm back no question). I've been flatlined the whole entire time. I have experienced some subtle signs of "rebirth" but I'm still a long ways off.

"Like porn now does nothing for me..."

It's sort of strange. Porn and even the thought of porn excites something inside of me but it's not horniness. But like horniness the feeling is compelling. The feeling pushes me towards P and M and O like horniness pushes you when you're in the club to go find somebody cute to grind on ::).

Welcome new member!! I wish you a happy and successful stay here!

HELL YES, as Hand Solong said. You can definitely desensitize yourself to the point of flatline even during porn session. That is actually what eventually happens. In other words, you have to escalate, you need something new, something more extreme, longer sessions, harder grip, whatever... Or else.

You are showing signs of physical changes in your brain caused by too much porn. Time to turn around and go the other way, much better way! Use the flatline to your advantage!

Thanks guys for the reply I?m driving myself crazyl because of the zero libido and ED I?m currently experiencing so it?s good to hear that this is kinda normal if you?ve fapped too much over the years!! One other question I?m needing cleared up to put my mind at ease... I?ve read a lot of articles basically saying if you don?t use your penis you?ll end up losing it!.... if I?m going to have to go several months now to cure myself will I be risking falling into this? Is this a thing?

Read these articles where....on here? I can't say that I've come across those sentiments here. I may have read somewhere like 30 to 40 ED reboot accounts on here. I can distinctly remember two accounts where, after a year of rebooting they didn't have any appreciable improvement. One of those accounts, the guy continued to MO without the P and he came to wonder if maybe the MO was affecting his recovery. The other account was from a guy who was obese. He was convinced that his poor health was also a major factor with his ED.

I don't know if you'll lose it by not using it but I can say with great certainty from my own experience that you can definitely lose it if you abuse it. And right now I'm full of hope and optimism that I haven't lost it for good.

Take a look at some of these. I think they'll help you feel more confident about life without PMO and ED recovery:

No I never read any of the articles on here, I?ve not actually managed to read that many on here yet but this is where I read it -  https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=90807
There are several others that are all saying the same thing?

I dont think porn addiction is yet recognized as real by formal medicine, let alone PIED. So you should watch out what you are reading. YBOP filters information well because it recognizes porn addiction and provides research based on that recognition. YBOP have links to hundreds of studies and everything you need to know about porn addiction so start reading from there.

Every religion man who abstained from masturbation for a year or two (believe me millions of them already did) would lose it (erection). There would be red flags on prostate cancer, ED and all kinds of things among people who abstained from fapping for religious purposes. Those articles can be so stupid that simple common sense is more than enough to prove them wrong :D

I did not actually heard of this one yet (lose erection by simply not using it) but I heard enough times about prostate cancer and I looked it up. They did research and Roman priests who lived celibate lives were actually LESS likely to develop prostate cancer and other forms of cancer as well. You will probably hear about prostate cancer soon, if not already, so Im just telling you in advance. YBOP got all the information and links to other places to inform yourself more and more accurately. It is the absolutely the best place on the internet if you want to educate yourself on porn addiction related topics.

"Erections: Use 'Em or Lose 'Em" is a catchy title, it even causes a little anxiety. The conclusion as written by the researchers who conducted the study starts off "Regular intercourse protects against the development of erectile dysfunction among men aged 55 to 75 years." That just doesn't have quite the same ring to it. https://www.amjmed.com/article/S0002-9343(08)00314-8/fulltext

I do find something very interesting about this article.  If you pause your ad blocker and scroll a little further down the page past the end of the article you will come across "Sponsored Ads."  I don't think it's a coincidence that ads 1 thru 5 are ED related.
