Porn Lawsuit

Hey everyone! Possible small triggers ahead.

I haven't been to the forum in ages as my recovery has progressed far enough that I don't need to. But I wanted to ask if anyone has any new information on the lawsuit that Pornhub filed against the creator of Fight the new drug. Any updates on this?

I wish everyone a good recovery.

Hi Alex,
Great that you?ve come such a long way. Well done.

I have no idea about the answer to your question, but have just had a look at fightthenewdrug.org

What a great site. (Worth a look to anyone else who hasn?t seen it already).

Thanks and take care

Hi Al,  What I'd love to see is a class-action counter suit naming a thousand users of PH claiming direct and consequential damages.
(I'd like to be the lawyer working on contingency. ooh la la!)
Plus if I were a judge, I'd love the chance to spank PH, so there is a good chance of winning the counter suit.)
Too bad I'm no longer practicing.  This would be a blast for a personal injury attorney. (Think one of the suits against one of the giant tobacco companies.) They'd probably end up settling out of court for around $55 m.  Serve them right for all the misery they've caused.

cont.  And if the judge got really pissed at PH he could hold them secondarily liable for damages to all of the youngsters who were in movies and exploited by PH.
You might see a sign on their door---(Going Out of Business Sale)
The only sticking point I see is that the members of the class-action would have to make themselves available publicly and give embarrassing testimony in court.
But, who knows, there may be enough people pissed off enough (like me), that would say "screw it, it's worth it make these bastards pay!"

cont.  Opposing counsel for PH would know that by virtue of statistics they wouldn't stand a chance if the suit ever got in front of a jury. Just think, what are the chances of not having a few people out of 12 who were not affected/pissed at porn?  They'd settle for cash in a heart beat.

I don't think that's the best use of the legal system. Pornhub isn't the problem anymore than liquor stores are the problem for alcoholics. Education is the key and all effort should be spent that. Give parents the tools they need to monitor their homes and children is the first line.

I started with playboy many years ago. I did it secretly, but if my parents had found out it might have made a difference. I don't blame Playboy, I just didn't have an open relationship with my parents to ask if this was OK or why it wasn't OK.

Hi Real,  I definitely don't disagree with you. Killing pornhub wouldn't solve our addictions (I can attest to that.)
At the same time I think they should get a bit of a spanking.

Just like cigarette companies used questionable marketing tactics years ago,  or companies pushing lead based paint when they knew it was bad,  this is an opportunity for industry pushback.  This is a chance for us as a population to say "enough is enough".  Yes if PH dies,  another would spring up in it's place.  But,  it more about the big picture and less about PH in particular.

Hi Metal,  Yeah, I agree.  My desire is somebody here will mention it to somebody else and somehow an attorney somewhere says, "Why not give it a try, I'm not too busy and I could make a name for myself."
It's highly unlikely but it would be nice to put a candle under the porn companies' butts.  They more than deserve it.

It would be great, but I don't think that would have the same effect as a defendant defending their honor. Unless it gained big media coverage of course, that could make a difference.

Hi, Tough to know what would make a difference and how.  I have read a lot of people on these forums who blame the pornographers on some level
Who am I to judge them?
