Introducing oneself...

Hello all,

As per the title, just introducing myself to everyone on here as I've just signed up today.

I won't go into too much detail as I aim to start a journal, hopefully today when I get a spare hour at work.

I'm currently at nine days no PMO. I started again as I edged to some softer stuff a couple of weekends ago and at this moment, I feel ready and committed. I've started carrying a folder around with me which has my daily plan/goals, thoughts on the previous day, the day ahead and whatever's come up in my head. Folder also includes a letter to my addiction, my post pornography life vision & three circles. (Which I got from an SA meeting).

I've been using porn for approximately twenty years and found out I had a problem with it when I was about a year sober from alcohol addiction which was a few years ago now. It's taken me a while to get here and 'do it properly' but the truth is, my life depends on it. I've simply had enough and I do not want to start my recovery all over again.

Look forward to speaking to you and reading other peoples journals, experiences, sucess stories etc.

Peace

Mikel

Welcome.
I'm sure you will find that keeping a journal can be helpful.
It helps keep up the motivation for many guys.

Thanks guys. I started my Journal today and been reading a few others. It's good to have this online support network.  :D

Thank you! I haven't been for a few weeks but I'm going to the next meeting which on Tuesday. Trying to keep ALL recovery options open to me this time around. I need everything I can get at the moment!

Right on!  Yea I go twice a week.  It's really a breath of fresh air sitting in those meetings and listening to people spill their emotions.  Sharing it out loud with no fear of ridicule or judgement is very empowering.

Totally agree. I get that from my AA meetings so it's nice to have a similar set up (for want of a better term) for speaking about my pornography addiction.

Apparently, in most SA meetings it's mainly porn addicts making up most of the numbers these days. I'm assuming that's down to high speed internet being available in pretty much every home and on mobile devices.

Well done on your 17 days. I hope you're feeling happy about your recovery so far.
