Hi my fellow rebooters!
I'm a man from the Netherlands, 43 years of age.
I have a girlfriend and and a son age 3.
In my professional life I work 3 days a week at a printing company as a order manager. The other 2 days I spent on my own business as a graphic designer.
Sports in my life are tennis, running, padel and a bit of mountainbiking. Is also like watch Netflix series with my girlfriend en we both read on our e-reader in bed every night which is relaxing.
Unfortunately watching porn on a regular basis has been something I enjoy for many years now. It started out I think when I was 14 something like that. Buying dirty magazines and watching softcore erotica on tv. Thank god we had no internet back then otherwise my addiction would be much greater now I think.
But form age 14 to now 43 are 29 years with porn in my life. That's a long time!
Since my son was born 3 years ago I knew I had to change this habit. I want to be a dad he can be proud of!
I noticed it affected my relationship to. Sex with y girlfriend was getting boring and getting an orgasm was difficult.
Also the pornsessions were giving me brief reflief on the long run it gave my stress, anxiety and feeling down on myself.
Also I was feeling tired a lot.
So a couple of weeks ago I bought the e-book Your brain on porn by Gary Wilson.
I immediately recognized a lot of stuff he was telling in the book.
I bought the book on the 25th of August and I haven't watched porn since then. So that's 28 days now! I guess I can be a bit proud of that!
If I look back on all the past years the triggers for watching porn were getting off, stress relief and thinking it would make me feel better and relaxed.
Of course in the long run it just does the opposite and I see that very clearly now.
The last couple of weeks there was a lot of tension in my body but it's starting to get less now. Also my energy level is getting up. Those two things I am grateful for today.
