Breaking Out of Relapse After Success?

Hi everyone,

In 2019 I was able to reboot and reach over six months. However, I slowly started slipping back into porn behaviors as time went on. Now I feel stuck once again and can barely make it past a few days. I know what to do, but I still relapse often. I'm frustrated that I'm back in this place after feeling so amazing and accomplished. I feel one of the reasons I'm still stuck is my unwillingness to go through the withdrawal all over again. Any help from those who have been in a similar situation would be appreciated!

I think you should sit down and write down your deeper inner thoughts. If you are unwilling to go through the withdrawal all over again, that means you are not fully committed to quit porn. Only fully committing to yourself can you help the battle. Yes, the porn actor is sexy, but tell yourself that it is fake. The actor in the movie doesn't give a shit about you. You are sacrificing your energy, your future just for the pixels. You must make a choice. I personally recommend you to go to yourbrainonporn.com to learn the knowledge and then do the ERP practice. Bro, I know it is so hard to quit, but you don't have a choice. It is about your future. Think about your life in the next five years if still watching porn. And your life without porn. But the most important thing is to build new healthy habits. If you always think about how to not watch porn, you are still thinking about porn. You need to focus on living a new life.

what was the trigger that made you relapse? cant you just apply to same approach that you used in 2019 again?

Hi thank you for your input. I thought about this and realized I wasn't really committed despite saying I was. I will return to YBOP to revisit the science behind this addiction. I really appreciate it. I've already started building better habits, but I guess my mind wasn't in the right space.

The Pandemic definitely had a role because I, like many, was forced to work from home for about 6 weeks. That's when I started isolating even more. I think it started before that with work stress. I was in the midst of changing jobs, dealing with financial stuff among other things. I'm definintely incorporating the things that worked for me back then into my life now. Thank you for the question.
