I have never actively used blockers much but from what I can tell they are mostly to keep yourself in check in moments of desperation. There are usually ways around all of them but they can slow you down at your attempts to act out when you feel tempted. It's almost less of a complete block and more of like a defense to your offense. However, I believe most people have an accountability partner, such as their spouse, that will hold the password to your blocker to prevent it from being disabled. Hope this helps!
