My Journey Starts Here...

Hi guys,

Firstly, thank you so much for such a fantastic website with such a vast array of content - And particularly to the people who have shared their experiences on this forum.

My name is Mark, I am 25, from the UK.

I have been viewing porn since i was around 14, and I now realise that I have suffered with significant problems in relationships as a result of my addiction to porn - Objectification of women, ED etc.

Today, I have decided to begin the road to recovery - I have deleted  all porn from my computer, and downloaded K9 which I hope will help me to get to where i need to be.

Reading some of the stories of success on the forum is really inspiring - And I feel that by documenting my own journey on here, hopefully this will not only help me to make some sense of what is happening in my mind through the process, but also help others who are feeling the same.

Thanks in advance for your support - Any advice from people who have been where i have been now will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, Mark. No real advice to give here as I am just starting the road to recovery myself, other than to say, don't give in, don't give up.

Hi All,

So a quick update - I relapsed when I was off work for a week in November, having not masturbated since I started my journey.

I then went through December without masturbating, but relapsed last week.

This seems to be much harder than I thought it would be, and I seem to be relapsing when my guard is down.

I watched porn again today, which has left me feeling extremely guilty and disappointed in myself.

I think this time I will utilise the forum much more to discuss with all of you out there, and see if that helps.

The above feels fairly garbled, but at the same time typing this seems therapeutic - Anyone else found this when posting?

Hey mark.
I think most users here find typing out their thoughts to be very therapeutic and a major motivation booster. Its like a walking stick; seeing all these stories that are similar to our own and getting helpful advice helps us walk along the path to recovery.
The cure is there, we just need to take it!
