Let’s Not Waist Another Day

Hey, You all can call me B.
My Porn addiction started when I started 6th grade. One of the kids I went to school got me to look at it and ever since then it’s taken over. I’m going on 24 now so that’s about 13 years. I new many times as a teen I might be addicted but I was like no way. But now that my partner has asked me to quit porn I’m struggling. My main issue is at night when I go to bed by myself versus with her (when one of us stays at the others) I struggle to not relapse. I’ve tried meditating, yoga, breathing. But it’s time for bed so I’m not going to go for a run at midnight or go to the gym. It’s the only time of the day when I really have a issue with this. Yet I still can’t manage it. I want to use this as a place to be accountable for my actions. I plan to update this forum at least weekly, but more likely quite often. Whenever I feel the need to watch porn I will instead come here. Thank you for being apart of my journey and I’m glad to have found this community. Everything I’ve tried so far was a pay for program or the community wasn’t purely porn based so a lot of the users would have profile pictures including females. As you can imagine this created a issue with me trying to use these forums at night for help because they ended up leading me to relapse. I’m going on a 3 day trip tomorrow to start me on my cleanse from porn. You won’t hear from me before Sunday at the earliest. Again thank you for joining me on this journey and if you have any tips or tricks besides porn blockers let me know please!

Adding journaling onto your roster of strategies can be the boost that you need, and your idea to use it in moments of urge is a great one.

In addition to visiting, I'd suggest to find as many activities as you can that can be done shortly before bed. You mentioned yoga/breathing/meditating, and those are good things, but they're not really distracting. Whereas something like reading a book or listening to music or creating visual art can really keep your mind occupied
