Recently I have struggled staying away from porn, today is my first day of sobriety. Prior to my recent relaps I had been over 400 days free of use. I discovered that it's the escape of reality and disassociation from my world that I enjoy from pornography more than anything. I feel like I am loosing hope and I may never find total freedom from this addiction. I have never tried an online group before so I thought that I would see if maybe I might receive the right amount of encouragement to be successful this time.

400 days is very impressive, I've been there once before and then lost it to quite a few relapses. However, as of yesterday, I'm now a year clean. You definitely can quit this shit for good and put it officially behind you. Having everyone's and help and support really does make the journey easier.

Congratulations on the year of sobriety, I know how hard that can be. It's sometimes really difficult to stay positive when you hear the stories of success and failure, knowing that failure is an option is very scary for me.

Well think of it this way, everything is life has the option of failure; approaching that beautiful girl for the first time, starting a business, getting married, going to school etc. Hell, even driving everyday might get you in a car accident. The only surety we have is that if we don't do anything and never try to quit, well... we'll never know what could have happened.

I'll take my odds on giving it hell.

My stakes are high, I have a wife of over 20 years and 5 kids, I just need to use the daily method (take 1 day at a time) and use everyone that I can on here as inspiration to be successful.
