Question about blocking apps

Hi All — hoping to ask a question to those who have used blocking apps before.

I’d like to use some kind of app to block me from sites, but need to have the password made by someone else for my accountability sake on days my willpower is low and my urges are high.

- Can anyone recommend apps for this?
- Does anyone have experience doing this for a password? Does it have to be someone who has your phone so they can log you in or is there a way to do it with someone remotely?

Any other advice would be appreciated!

I don’t know of any apps Bro but I’m here to give you the advice,
The only thing that can stop you from visiting those sites you’re trying to block ids yourself, not some apps not some accountable partners, YOURSELF. Take your time and look at the effects watching P has caused your life and take a look at the horrifying stories others are reporting if the very very Bad effects watching P caused them. I believe something, us P addicts our hearts have gone cold that we lack the connections of emotional feeling we had with our selves before we became addicts. I personally find it difficult to Grief, to think, to feel Loved when someone is showing it to me, to listen carefully all stuff like that all because we’ve spent alot of years watching P that ignores the emotions and making Love part and only show us the objectifying parts. If you try and try harder and think about how porn have affected your Life and realise and Genuinely hold that feeling of quitting and Never watch P again it will be enough I Promise. But it will take alot of time, focus and deep thinking which us addicts find it very very difficult to do. You can quit porn and if you truly work your way towards quitting, you’ll eventually do so I believe in that…

@tl23 I have been doing some research around blocking apps, as I have young children growing up with modern technology, and as much as I have been VERY open with them regarding the harmful affects of pornography I know there may come a time when I need to install some blocking software.
My man was recommended Detoxify, which is Android compatible, by his Counsellor and it looks pretty good, I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but am going to have a go at setting it up on his browser also. You have the ability for an Accountability Partner to set a pin, or it will randomly select a pin which you can't access, which I thought was a cool feature.
Another one I've been reading about is Migiri, apple compatible, would love to know if anyone has tried that, it has some interesting features?
There's a few different ones out there like Covenant Eyes and BlockerX, and while I agree with @5yrs_is_enough that only 'YOU' can stop yourself, I do think they have a place as a deterrent. Good luck fella:)

My advice would be to "read the fine print" in regards to how effective the blockers can be. My own experience (on a browser on a desktop computer) is that many of the blockers can too easily be disabled. You want something that will prompt you for a password or even send an email to someone. That way, it's a true deterrent and a real barrier not just something saying "tsk, tsk" while you go back to porn. Ultimately, willpower and discipline are the best blockers!
