Coming clean

I have been addicted to porn for the last two years. I'm only 16 now. I've read all about porn induced ED and I don't want something like that to happen to me. For two years now I've had the same routine. Go to the bathroom, turn on the shower, sit on the floor, plug in my headphones, and you can guess the rest from there. I'm also a Christian. I need to be freed from this addiction I have, but I don't know where to start. I need help.

The first step is naturally to leave your headphones outside.

Then, it's helpful to learn your triggers, recognize the urges when they are still young (as in the first seconds when they appear), and replace them with another appropriate behavior.

If you're bored, read a book or go for a walk. If you're feeling hyper-active, do some relaxation or physical exercise, if you're feeling depressed, pray or talk to people. Or something else, these are not rules, just find what suits you better.

I'm not sure what's your practical approach to faith on a daily basis, but try to re-discover prayer. Not necessarily learning some new prayers or religious songs, but re-invent your inner attitude. Also, prayer combined with fasting can be helpful.

What my friend here just mentioned is totally right. You should try to recognize your triggers. If taking showers is where you find yourself weak, then before taking a shower, make a decision to get in and out as fast as you can. Don't do anything else but shower! Forget everything else.
