YOUR BRAIN ON FACEBOOK

So first take look at this interesting video created by talented Shimi Cohen. Four very dynamic minutes of in your face information followed by brilliant animation will open your eyes to a new problem. With rise of the internet kingdom and consumerism we see all kinds of problems popping and we are first generations to deal with them. So lets deal with them. After you're done watching we'll go and see how there is connection between our recovery and use of social media. And hopefully it will help you to stay away from Facebook, becuase for some of us it's also part of the process.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND RECOVERY

If you didn't catch at first go back and rewind to the part of the video where he states something very crucial for this topic. I SHARE THEREFORE I AM. Today we are literally faking experiences in order to share them. That behavior is pushing us straight into this heady state of mind where our self image is completely scripted and basically fake and somewhere deep down we know it. So there is clear connection between that and self doubt. Now we created image of ourselves that we have to justify in real life, and I think that could be part of the reason for some people suffering social anxiety.  Further more, our social skills are in danger, because in real life you don't get notification when somebody is about to ask you something, and you can't think about your answer 20 minutes before you reply. And for us interacting with real girls off screen is important step.

For us porn was substitute for real sex,and now social media  is becoming substitute for real life interaction. We all know porn caused some damage, and so will social media.

What are your thoughts on this?
Have you been aware of all this before?
Do you think giving up social media would speed up our recovery?
