Hmmm, difficulties again

Hi guys,

First time I joined this site in January, I was so sure and confident about the reboot. Stayed like 32 days and then slipped, next try lasted 2 weeks, and then 2 days, and then 1 day (today) (that is failed three times in 4 days: thursday, saturday and sunday). So I really have to do something not to get lost into binging again.

I already have a very busy life, I do yoga, teach yoga once a week, run at least five times per week, go to the gym, have a good social life, but still I manage to have some time for porn. So I am a bit lost on what to do.

Maybe one thing I can is to report every evening about my day/feeling, etc and keep in touch with you guys, this posting only when I fail is not really working.

I will start reporting from tomorrow onwards.

cheers,
O.

Welcome, NSN. Glad you're here.

You must know this stuff is symptomatic of other issues. But, while we stop the outward behaviors, the other stuff will be revealed, in order for us to work through them.

Yes! Keep posting, and apprising us of your goals, your issues, and your struggles.

We're here to help each other out. This stuff can be beat.

I like that you're a Yoga instructor. As you then know, yoga means discipline, and it takes discipline to recognize what sets you off (triggers), and to find other healthier ways to work through the stresses and pain of life.

Peace.

Spangler's book "Wack" has a 12 step guide to overcoming porn addiction you could try. Plus there's lots of bonus tips. I'm confident you'll think it's worth the read if you buy it.

You guys are great! Thank you so much!
Just bought the kindle version of "wack", hope it will help.
Also, I will spend an hour or two now to plan the rest of the week. I have big plans for this year related to running, learning the guitar, yoga, dating/pickup, etc... will have to break it down a little bit, and maybe come up with a rough plan for the rest of March.

Keep on keeping on man! Its good to have plans but I have to remind myself that I need to take stuff one small step at a time. If I plan too much I get overwhelmed and before I know it I'm acting out again. Anyhow, that's just me! Keep checking in!

wow, a really wonderful day today

Woke up around 7:30, sun shining brightly, 10 minutes later I am out running. After 5Kms, I am by a lake, sit down and sort of meditate for about 10min, then back running again. Running drills at the park in front of my apartment, stretched, breakfast of sausage and eggs...yum yum...

at work, not so productive, but who cares...lots of time laughing and joking with my colleagues, some boring meeting kept me till 7pm, came back home, made myself a nice dinner (goat meat with rice, delicious).. then went to the movies with a couple of friends to see "The imitation game", nothing special, but enjoyed the company of my friends

now it's 11:40 pm, having my last cup of tea of the day, will be crashing soon...Amen! :)

Awesome, NSN.

Enjoying the day as it is, in all it's natural splendors.

Yeah, Leon, trying to enjoy the simple things :)

Morning run, weather was kinda shitty but I still managed to force myself out. Ran about 10K and then did some 10minutes of exercises for glutes/core. Breakfast was scrambled egg and avocados. Work was much better than yesterday, managed to finish a couple of things that I set out to do. After work went to teach Yoga, the Yoga studio where I teach is kinda dying it seems as there is now a bigger studio right in front of it. There were only 4 students today as compared to 20+ students that was the norm about a year ago. Anyways, the class went OK. Afterwards, went to an Ethiopian restaurant for a quick dinner and met some friends for some drinks. We met at a beer bar, and I hate beer, but it was fun catching up with them. Now just arrived home, time is 11:35pm. Will get a cup of tea and crash.

Amen.

Started the day with one hour yin yoga, focusing on the spine. I have done this only once, and it was quite uplifting. Note to self: try to do this at least once a week! After the usual egg-based breakfast, headed to the office, where there was an urgent meeting was being held. Something about lay offs, and some people in our department may be affected. I don't think it will affect me, so I am not worried, but the whole day (at least until 3pm) was spent in several informational meeting explaining the details of the layoffs.

Lunch with one co-worker (from another department), and she was interested in doing the same yoga teacher training that I did a  couple of years ago and wanted my advice. I told her my honest feeling (that it was really expensive, didn't really connect with the teachers, etc...)..She told me her plan to maybe open a studio one day, we joked about becoming partners and co-owning the studio... who knows, maybe that will be what I will be doing in 2016:)

Packing now as I am going for a ski trip tomorrow and staying there until Sunday evening. I am not really a fan of skiing, but almost all of my best friends are joining, so really looking forward for the after ski time with them.

Will report back on Monday.
