Help please

I have not looked at porn in 19 days and I will never ever look at that vile horrid crap that has ruined my life again. I have all the symptoms-ringing in ears, ED, PE(bad), inflamed prostate, anxiety--wow at the anxiety, I and I have a really hard time falling asleep. I am planning to do a 30 day hard mode and then employ some karezza stuff with my wife. Any thoughts? What supplements are people taking? I want my life back and I am will to go through anything to get it.

I'm not taking anything but working out and walking daily. The flat line should be passing soon for you so don't worry to much.  Have you stopped the M also?  I'm 45 days fully clean and it's working alot better with the wife but not 100% like a teenager ?.  Others have tried meditation for the anxiety but that was never a issue for me so I can't comment.  Glad to hear you have found this site, congratulations!

I "tested" twice and it would get up but the second it did I ejacualted. Deflated me and made the anxiety worse. Is that something anyone has seen? I  really struggling here. Not with wanting to look at porn but with a total inability to sleep. Slept off and on from 3:30 to 7:30. Not good deep sleep then either. Advice??

Hi Dawg,

There are some supplements which you can take to help reduce your symptoms - especially to help you sleep.

L-Tryosine

During the daytime you can take L-Tyrosine which is an amino acid used in your body to produce Dopamine. A lack of dopamine can trigger anxious symptoms like you describe. When you are withdrawing from the porn addiction your brain is not getting it's usual spike of dopamine it has become accustomed to. It will take a while for normal production to resume but in the meantime L-Tyrosine will support you. You can take up to 1500mg twice a day. Start at 500mg and note the effects after 1 hour, keep adding to the dose until you feel a noticeable lift. That is then your dose to take each time. Do NOT take after 2pm or you will really struggle to sleep even more.

5-HTP

At night time you have a couple of options to aid with restful sleep. 5-HTP is widely available and will naturally increase serotonin in your brain - this gives feelings of calmness and well being as well as helping to increase the sleep hormone Melatonin. Start taking 5-HTP at about 4pm with one dose and then another an hour before bed. Dose can be around 500mg to 1000mg.

Also it is possible to buy Melatonin although not in all countries but you can try a google search. I have not used this but many people report good results. To be honest 5-HTP will create melatonin though so I would use that first.

Omega 3

This is your brains preferred source of energy and an essential fat. It has been shown to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety many many times in lots of studies. Suggested does would be around 2500mg -3500mg daily. When you are buying this make sure that you get one which is Omega 3 only (not also containing 6 and 9) and you want the most EPA you can get. There are two types of Omega 3 called EPA and DHA and it has been found that EPA is most effective in treating anxiety and depression.

Ashwagandha

This one is a bit newer to me but I have started using it for this reboot. It reduces your stress hormone Cortisol in the body and helps reduce daily stress. I'm taking half a teaspoon of powder in my protein shake each day and I have been sleeping very well. But, this is definitely newer to to me than the the three above so I would start with them.

The other simple really recommendations I have are - cut out coffee and cola if you drink them as the caffeine is terrible for anxiety and turn off all screens at least 1 hour before bed as the blue light prevents natural creation of sleep hormones.

Btw I know all of this because I have suffered with depression and anxiety lots over the years and have done a tonne of research.

Thank you so much. I actually went today and got some taurine and l theanine which is supposed to help big time with sleep. I ordered some high quality magnesium and calcium and I take zinc a b complex and a multi every day (just started this). Also have triple potency fish oil and cod liver oil for the inflammation in my prostAte. Thoughts on my mixture? I have tried the ashwaganda and for a few days after I started it I have raging morning wood- like way bigger that normal and could cut glass. That stopped cold turkey after about a week. Now if I get it is much more subdued and goes away quick.

One more question. I am married. How long before I can begin to reintroduce the relationship with my wife? How long before sex is ok if it will work?

Great to read that you have got some supplements ordered.

I recommend taking the magnesium before bed to get the best from it. Also, I consider getting the L Tysrosine - it really helps.

Having a good couple of days so far. Feel a lot more optimistic about this thing. The ringing in my ear is about to drive me crazy though.

Good hear Dawg.  For myself I had no issues with bringing sex in but thankfully I was about 2 weeks in and my member worked.  It would have crushed me if my pied showed up, it's still stress inducing anyways but 47 days in I know that if she says yup I'll be eager.

Keep up the good work.

Awesome. I can really feel progress. I  sleeping better. Taurine is awesome for sleep. If I could get rid of the anxiety and my ear ringing I would feel back to normal

Still doing well. It has been 29 days since I looked at open last. I have no desire whatsoever to look at it either. The relationship with my wife has changed too. Now it is not about getting a nut but about being close. I am becoming a walking erection again too. I had sex once with her and it was good but I still had too quick of a trigger but that improved too. Onward.

29 days is great.  Its shocking how quickly the desire goes, it will creep up here and there but nothing should pull you in.

Yes I've also had limited control before I released but I have just slowed down and am trying to enjoy her body.  She said to me this part I wrote in my signature when I had a moment of anxiety, best words I have hear so far.  Good to hear you are crushing this Dawg.
