Question for those that have "recovered" from this.....what next?

My question is simple....after having "recovered" is it an ongoing struggle or is it just gone forever from your mind? Meaning, do you get to a point where you never think about it, and if you do happen to see it somewhere (because it is everywhere) are you okay seeing it? Do you feel anything when a steamy scene comes on the screen of a movie? Is it a constant battle? Just wondering what is to expect AFTER recovery....if he even can recover. He quit smoking cold turkey one day and has never had the desire since. I know this addiction runs deep but I am unsure if it is at all similar addiction wise. Or is this a totally different demon altogether....? Thanks :)

It's ongoing that it exists.  There is sometimes temptation.  Once you're recovered you fully realize that life is better without the chains of Porn.

You officially choose life over porn. And that's that.

If he is not even recovered I would focus on the recovery first before worrying what's next.  Recovery is not easy, and there is no defined "point" where you say I am recovered.

When I see porn or something sexual in movies it doesn't affect me, I just don't show interest in it.  If it's artificial stimulation I mentally avoid it.

My husband can watch movies with sex in it or nudity and it doesn't affect him. I was worried about it because I was thinking oh you know, it is a sex scene and that will trigger him but nope. He says it doesn't affect him anymore because he is over it.
